School Library Journal
Gr 9 Up-Beginning with a historical overview of the awareness of the ozone layer's importance and recent changes in it, Newton continues with scientific explanations of how it is being depleted. Also included are brief biographies of people involved in the study of ozone and in the politics of its protection. Many primary sources are quoted. Although dealing principally with the assumption that the ozone layer is an essential aspect of the natural environment, there is discussion of the ideas of those, such as Rush Limbaugh, who do not believe there is a problem. An excellent, up-to-date bibliography and glossary round out this fine, informative title that will benefit researchers.-Eva Elisabeth Von Ancken, Trinity Pawling School, NY\
