From the 1,400-year-old oak tree to the over 2,000 animals living in the Riverbanks Zoological Park, each letter of the alphabet is splendidly represented. In addition to each four line, rhyming stanza, there are one to two paragraphs that explain in greater detail the significance of each landmark. Within each description there is useful statistical, geographical, and historical information. Many readers may enjoy perusing this book merely for pleasure but it would also augment any school's curriculum on the states of America, despite its non-traditional format. The watercolor illustrations are gloriously captivating. South Carolina is portrayed as a historically rich and valuable land full of tradition and beauty.     I love reading this book. I love giving this book for SC Residents, new and old, and for families with new babies in the home.

    P Is For Perfection!

    What a wonderful way to celebrate SC history while teaching my child about our great state! This book is filled with beautiful pictures and information that can we both enjoy.
