This CD is O.K., but it's not what I hoped for. For one thing, this CD does not contain the origional recordings, and despite that Buckner and Garcia redid this album from scratch, note by note, this still not the same. Compared to the vinyl version, the songs just don't have the juice or energy as it has on the CBS 1982 vinyl release, and some of the tracks have static noise or muffled sounds in them. This CD may appeal to newcommers of Pac-Man Fever, but if you want to get the real Pac-Man Fever, do yourself a faver and get the 1982 vinyl version instead on Ebay. I'm not faulting Buckner and Garcia for this, but rather I am faulting CBS for not re-releasing the origionals. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Pac-Man Fever. I remember that song when I was a child. Those words, those video game sounds, those everythings. This is the early to mid 1980s when I was in class, listening to those songs. I even heard it on the radio. Too bad my parents didn't find the record for me, because CBS put it out of print in just a couple of years. Now, Pac-Man Fever is re-released on this CD! Yey! but when I play it, it just ain't as good. I was wandering why the quality was taken off this CD. I found out that these songs ARN'T the origional recordings of the 1982 vinyl so it won't replace your vinyl collection. This CD is not bad, but on the other hand, this is not what I've been looking for. Yes, it could be enjoyable for newcommers of the Pac Man Fever universe, but if you really want the true experience, then get the vinyl version instead. You can get the vinyl on E-bay. On the other hand, you can support Buckner and Garcia for your cravings for this music and you can send a letter to Buckner telling CBS to re-release the origionals or sell the license to Buckner. After all, why would ANY one want to put it out of print for good, even though it sold well? But anyways, this album is good for a lay-over until CBS does something. It's too bad that CBS is sitting on the origionalsWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
