    Baroque Butchery

Leppard's "rearrangement" of Pachelbel's Canon is criminal. If you are a true devotee of music, rather than a novice merely in search of a sampling, this CD does not belong on your shelf. There are many better and more inclusive recordings of Baroque music. Conspicuously absent from this recording are any selections from Vivaldi's Four Seasons or Handel's Water Music, two of the greatest works in this genre of music. Furthermore, the orchestra's playing grates on one's nerves like the sound of a drill in a dentist's office. Look elsewhere, music lovers!

Great ecclectic selection for Baroque lovers!

I have a very old copy(tape) of it that I made ten years ago. Since then, I have purchased numerous Baroque CD's, but none compared to the great selection of songs and orchestral style! The style and tone quality renders joy and depth in the heart. After ten years of thinking that the CD is non-existent, thanks to B&N for having it! A sure purchase!

    Truly wonderful!

This is the best baroque in the world. I have gone through two tapes since 1983 when I first had the pleasure of purchasing it. I have been looking for the CD and was going to give up hope thinking it was too old. Thank you Barnes & Noble for letting me find it again. It is absolutely wonderful.
