Overview

Canadian prog metal outfit Protest the Hero issued their fifth major effort, the sprawling "serial album" Pacific Myth, in late 2016. However, the seven tracks had already been released between October 2015 and March 2016 as part of a fan subscription service. Releasing one song per month, Protest the Hero would later compile everything into this single consolidated collection, which reached number 115 on the Billboard 200. Pacific Myth includes "Ragged Tooth," "Tidal," and "Caravan," the latter of which features string work by composers Milen Petzelt-Sorace and Luke Hoskin. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
