Fra Luca de Pacioli was a late 15th-century Franciscan friar who published the first serious treatise on the true shapes and proportions of classical Roman letters. This edition of Pacioli's alphabet has been painstakingly reproduced from a rare, limited edition of 397 copies prepared by Stanley Morison, distinguished typographer and scholar.
