Reading this book has been one of the most beautiful gifts that a human being can receive. I was delighted reading it from the beginning to the end. The whole time I read it, I was overcome with thoughts of Padre Pio throughout my day. The book was beautifully written. It made me cry and it made me laugh. Padre Pio is the most loving man, priest, a true holy and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. What a life Padre Pio lead. It is amazing the relationship he had with Jesus and Mary, even with his Angels. Reading this book has been a healing, a transformation, and kind of a retreat for me, allowing me to see life with true faith, hope and love. Somehow it humbles you and brings you a feeling of peace I even felt Padre Pio¿s presence while I read this book. Renzo Allegri deserves the Nobel prize for having taking the time to accomplished all the documents and information to write this wonderful book. Indeed he did a great favor to those who want to learn from Padre Pio. You will not be sorry to read this book. This book changed my life.

This book was an excellent introduction to the life of Saint Padre Pio. It was full of fancinating stories about this very holy and remarkable man. It also contains accounts of some of the miracles attributed to his intervention after his death. Since is was written in 2000 though, it does not have information about more recent events leading up to his cannonization. And there are many stories about his life that I have read in other accounts that did not make this book. But all in all it was very easy to read and left me wanting to know more. It is a great book to read for yourself and then share with a friend or loved one.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Amongst the many books available today on the recently beatified Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, none of them is more sympathetic and full of stories of his miracles, his life, and his legacy than this book by an Italian journalist. Through Renzo Allegri's sympathetic eyes,we begin and see Padre Pio not only as a man of prayer, but as a human being who suffered much for his fellow man. Interestingly enough unlike other biographies on Padre Pio, this book is written more as an introduction to Padre Pio and his world than anything else. It is a book worthy of it's subject and should be a must read for anybody interested in this wonderful saint of modern times. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
