I would not bother with this book, why the author bothered to write something so short I cannot fathom. I only gave it a one start because B & N said I had to. I've read Highland Belle, by Grasso, and enjoyed it. I saw that Pagan Bride told the story of a couple of characters from Highland Belle. I was excited, I love it when authors use characters from previous books. It also allows you to go back and visit characters that you have come to love from old books. That was not the case with this book. First of all the book was only 80 pages long, not nearly long enough to flesh out a character and really be able to tell their story. You can hardly get to know a character and come to care about them in 80 pages, even if you knew them beforehand. There was also no mention of any previous main characters. This is not the first time that I have accidentally bought a book that was so short. I normally would not buy such a short book for the above mentioned reasons, but with Nook Books, you really cannot tell how long it is until you buy it, it only tells you the file size. One book that is 560 KB is 500 pages long, yet another book that was 820 KB was only 323 pages long. Very frustrating.
