"Once again I’ve had the privilege of reading a wonderful novel. ‘Painfully Ordinary’ by Stephanie Amox is a wonderful read. Stephanie takes in the use of fairies, vampires, and shifter types of characters and gives it her own twist. This makes the whole novel unique and delightful. The development of the characters, drama and the romance left me spell bound. Jace and Leah, Talon and Caitlin have a relationship that you know will transcend time and space. I highly recommend

So good, I couldn't put it down! This is the first time I've read a book where there were two heroines. It was mostly Caitlin, but the fact that Leah was also in as much danger as she was, made the book unique in my opinion.

Meet the Author

Stephanie Amox attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where she met her husband. Her life did an about-face in January 2009 and the future of her career looked bleak. Her husband encouraged her to follow her dream and finally write the story which had been buzzing around in her head for a number of years, thus The Lumina Saga was born.
These days she spends her time in Flower Mound, Texas with her husband, two children and a couple of crazy Jack Russell Terriers. When she's not writing she enjoys spending time watching her son play hockey or visiting her daughter at Oklahoma State University.

I loved the way the book kept me entertained. I liked the idea of her not knowing she was a pixie and then finding out her bloodline. I like especially the part where she really couldn't be with Talon, but how theywere together anyway. I like her Aunt becasue her Aunt wasn't disapproving when she was with Talon. I can't wait for the next book. It left me at cliffhanger. Can't wait!

If you are still unsure about taking a chance on this book just download the free sample and you will be hooked! That is exactly what I did and I LOVED this story! The characters are so likeable and fun, the guys are handsome and chivalrous and I just flat out laughed at times. This story has friendship, love, danger and lots of fun. The author really has a great talent and I'm so glad I read this one! I don't think I have anything negative to say at all---other than I want more! I will be waiting anxiously for the next book!

I got this book due to the nearly 5 star rating and all of the positive reviews. But, this just shows that sometimes, just because everyone else loves it, doesn't mean that you will. I really enjoyed the first part of this book. I tore through it and enjoyed the two teens experiencing this new change in their lives of experiencing they were "Pixies." I even liked the two male characters Talon and Jace. I thought the book would be about what would happen to these two teen girls upon discovering their actual heritage. There was a lot of build up about these opposing forces coming from them and it just went...nowhere. The story brought you to a place where it was about to be action filled and then it turned into a ridiculous romance novel. Maybe I should have realized it was a "Romance novel" but I didn't think about that. It just left you hanging wondering what happened to the meat of the story and left me feeling cheated for the buildup that did not deliver. 16 year old girls running off with 2 men, falling in love, and just dying to have sex is not what I expected. I can say the character development was pretty good in the beginning and at times it was humorous. And the concept of the story was unique. I wish the story would have been about more than just the romance part of it.

this book is the best book i have read in along time. i absolutly love this book. it almost made me break out crying, it also had me laughing all the way thorough. most girls could relate to caitlin and leah, they are the bestest friends. the ending leaves you with a cliff hanger. i really think the author should write a series about this story! loved it, totally worth it!

Painfully Ordinary is a tale of love, friendship, danger, betrayal, and secrets. Caitlin and Leah are best friends who go to school each day and live their lives. They feel that their lives are dull and boring and without passion. That all changes when Talon and Jace show up. The boys are sinfully gorgeous and very protective of the girls. From the beginning Talon is attracted to Catlin and Jace to Leah. Their connection with the boys is strong, and each moment they fall deeper for the mysterious duo. Then they find out that there is more going on-evil is looking for Catlin-in order to defeat this ancient foe, Catlin must accept and embrace her birthright. Stephanie Amox has written a fast paced novel that ensnares the reader. The characters win the reader over with their loyalty, love, and protectiveness toward one another. The world that the author has built blends in paranormal aspects ranging from shapeshifters, vampires, and fae. If you are looking for an exciting adventure with very likeable characters, this is the story for you!
