Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Sloan's previous books, The Practical Guide to Decorative Antique Effects (LJ 9/15/99) and Modern Paint Effects (LJ 9/15/00), have included information on homemade paints when describing various paint techniques. Here her focus is on how to make paints and the various decorating effects to be achieved. The format allows for only one photograph and a one-page explanation for making each paint. This is adequate for simple techniques such as texture paint, but more complex procedures, such as colored concrete, could use more directions. However, the basic information about the various types of paint and color mixing will be inspiring. Purchase where there is an interest. Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.
