Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Nancy Partridge
This lively book tells the story of six little girls enjoying themselves enormously at a pajama party. They do lots of things that girls like to do; eating pizza and ice cream, dancing, putting on nail polish, and watching a movie. We only see the mother a couple of times. The dog, on the other hand, appears on almost every page. His expressions are endearing as he joins in the activities. Illustrations executed in pretty pastel colors convey lots of movement. The text is printed in large type, with only a few lines per page. Told in rhyme, with lots of repetition, the combined text and illustrations make for a delightful and easy to read story. Level 1 book in the "All Aboard Reading" series.

I ordered these for my 5 year olds pajama party goody bags. It fit the theme perfectly. Since we had a mix of ages from 4-8, the book worked well. Some could read it themselves because it is simple enough and the others enjoyed just listening to it being read to them.

The cover is pink, which sealed the purchase for my daughter. However, it's more than just pink--the story is cute and bouncy and sweet, written in rhyme, including all the basic things kids do at a sleepover. My daughter gave goodie bags to her sleepover friends, which were a major hit. The book was included in the bags as well as snacks, bracelet-making kit, etc. 'I got this goodie bag idea from a magazine and it turned out to be a great one.' The story has a good twist ending. Lots of girl appeal.
