    WHY?????

I'm sorry but I have to make a comment and in all caps!! WHY DO PEOPLE PUT THE WHOLE DARN STORY WHEN THEY ARE ONLY ASKED TO GIVE A REVIEW OF WHETHER OR NOT THEY LIKED THE BOOK... For goodness sakes...think about it...I haven't got to read this one yet and when I wanted to see what other people's "review" was...it almost blew the whole thing!!! Think about it...Don't you hate it when that happens to you???

    dark and frightening thriller

The one thing the town of Tounela, Wisconsin is known for is the infamous Pale Immortal Richard Manchester who allegedly killed a hundred people drinking their blood. Some thought he was a vampire and buried him in a manner so he couldn¿t return from the grave. Since his death a century ago, there hasn¿t been a murder committed in town. --- A cult of high school students calling themselves Pale Immortals dig up his body and let it be found by the police for reasons of their own. Graham, a high school student, is dumped on the door of the local resident Evan Stuart, thought by some to be a vampire because he suffers a rare disease that makes him allergic to the sun. Graham claims to be Evan¿s son and a DNA test proves him right. While the two are involved in their personal melodrama the town is in an uproar because the body of a high school girl was found, her body drained of blood. Evan¿s DNA is found at the scene of the crime and Rachel, the town medical examiner, hides him before he can be arrested. Graham, who escaped from an abusive mother is in danger from the leader of the vampire cult Evan will risk everything to save the son he cares for even if it means his own death. --- PALE IMMORTAL is much darker and frightening in tone than other books written by the author. Readers will wonder if the PALE IMMORTAL was really a vampire and be chilled by the visions of the dead Rachel sees. Anne Frasier has written a very scary novel with gothic and supernatural overtones. Readers will pity Graham and hope he can find a way to have a normal life. This is a stupendous work, worthy of an award nomination, --- Harriet Klausner

    A perfect supernatural thriller...

Anne Frasier has done it again. She's written a novel that has entranced the reader from beginning to end. Anne has the awesome talent of taking the reader inside the heads of complex characters and not letting you leave through out the entire book. I've been in awe of her storytelling skills since I first read Play Dead and each novel I've read since hasn't let me down. This novel takes place in Old Tuonela, Wisconsin. Anne has written Tuonela as if the town were a living, breathing character in the story. She lures you in with exquisite imagery and keeps you riveted with realism interweaved with supernatural elements. Anne Frasier's skill for colliding reality and the supernatural will have you searching the shadows for things not of this world. Pale Immortal gives you all the elements of a perfect thriller...a psychotic killer, gut- curling suspense, and storytelling that makes your blood run cold.

    Suspenseful and Chilling

This book is sure to add to the growing list of Anne Frasier fans. Tension mounts from the opening chapter as Frasier takes us on a journey to the old Midwestern town of Tuonela, Wisconsin, where one hundred years ago a man known as the Pale Immortal stalked the streets drinking the blood of his victims. Fear grips the small community when a young woman¿s body is discovered drained of blood. Has the Pale Immortal returned from the grave? Suspicion falls on local resident Evan Stroud. Labeled a ¿vampire¿ because of a rare disease that makes exposure to sunlight fatal, Stroud is forced to live his life in the darkness and shadows of his hometown. When a troubled teenage son he never knew he had is literally dumped on his doorstep by his mother and then gets caught up in the dangerous vampire-mania, Evan turns to childhood friend and coroner Rachel Burton for help. And this is just the beginning! With Pale Immortal, Anne Frasier delivers a chilling story with such stark realism that readers may find it difficult to turn the lights off at night! This book will stay with you long after you turn the final page. Anne Frasier is at her best!

    Very Good

I wasn't sure about this when I got it but I'm glad I read it. The author puts some interesting twists into a story as old as storytelling and that made it a very fun, fast paced read.
