I have been interested in the Paleo Diet for years but have been blocked in my attempts to fully commit to the lifestyle despite its amazing health benefits because of one simple fact; sometimes I really feel like having a sandwich.  John Chatham has freed me from my own preconceptions by releasing this game changing book that brings bread back.  The book begins with a fact filled overview of the Paleo, or Cave Man, diet.  The Q+A section was particularly relevant and addressed the exact questions I had in mind.  Why do I have to limit my alcohol intake?  What is wrong with corn or peanuts?  Doesn't fat make you fat?  All of these common misconceptions are directly addressed before moving into detailing the connection between a diet rich in gluten, grain and overly processed foods with numerous health conditions such as Chrohns, heartburn, Colitis, and Irritable Bowl Syndrome.  In addition to the direct correlations gluten free Paleo diets are efficient in preventing problems such as cardiac pulmonary disease, type 2 Diabetes, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, arthritis and several forms of cancer.  There are, as of yet, unconfirmed links between gluten and disorders like Anxiety, Autism, Dementia, Migranes, mouth sores, Schizophrenia and many forms of Seizures.  After the intro is done the book moves into high gear and provides recipes for some amazing "new," breads.  I have already made a number of them including the banana bread, pretzels, herb bread, pizza dough and nut & spice bread.  They are all delicious.  Although if I had to choose a favorite I would have to say I am very partial to having a slice of banana bread in the morning with two eggs and a bowl of fresh fruit.  I am incredibly grateful for finding this book and encourage everyone to give it a try.

Healthy bread is finally here! Bread is back! This cookbook gives over 20 bread recipes that are easy to follow and more importantly really tasty. For those on the fence about substituting your standard Western Diet  for a Paleo diet, the book also contains a detailed, concise introduction about the simplicity of the Paleo diet as well as it’s benefits, i.e. - weight loss, Type 2 diabetes prevention as well as immune and cardiovascular health.  Recipes range from desert breads including, pumpkin and cherry chocolate-chip to classic dinner rolls and Kalamata olive sandwich bread. Recipes are easy to follow and allow for substitutes.

"Paleo Bread" lays out the history and research behind the paleolithic or "caveman" diet and details the multitudinous health benefits of such a diet in a way that is interesting and easy to follow. What makes it such a useful book, however, is the inclusion of ingredient substitutions, grocery guides, and even gluten-free bread recipes. For anyone who wants a healthier way of living but can't reconcile themselves to a breadless future, "Paleo Bread" jumps that hurdle. It was the important final piece in helping me decide to modify my diet because it gave me all the information I needed to make the necessary changes.

While almond oil can be expensive, it is well worth the added cost, as are most of the products necessary to take advantage of Paleo diet bread-baking techniques. “Paleo Bread: Gluten-Free Bread Recipes for a Paleo Diet” is a quick read on how to eat healthy, and avoid foods that are unhealthy. Gluten is in most foods (the Paleo diet is gluten free), and has been associated with depression and stomach cramps among other things. To start the Paleo diet you do not eat dairy (you are however, allowed to eat eggs) artificial foods, or processed foods while eating mainly foods that are on the perimeter of the grocery store; do your best to avoid the aisles. John Chatham provides many different delicious recipes in his book for you, such as the Cherry Chocolate-Chip Bread. Chatham’s book “Paleo Bread: Gluten-Free Bread Recipes for a Paleo Diet” is a guide on how to start eating healthy for everybody.

Bread is back and that’s a relief! John Chatham spills tons of great bread recipes for you to try at home, but also provides a no-fluff explanation behind the benefits of a Paleo diet. He lays out what foods are and are not recommended and why. You learn some of the history behind how the Paleo diet came to be and how it is going to assist your health and weight loss goals. This book is a must-read for carb-lovers who want to switch over to Paleo eating, but hate the idea of skipping that pizza. Most of the recipes are fairly easy and won’t take all of Sunday morning to complete. We’re talking simple, good-for-you breads that anybody with a little bit of free time can stir together. Frankly, even if you don’t want to go completely Paleo, this book is helpful in providing you with a foundation of knowledge to build your own diet upon.

A New Look at Bread So many diets that hit the market are like one-trick ponies. They try to convince us that following their narrow path will lead us to long life. The Paleo diet is far from narrow and “Paleo Bread” helps prove it. The book explains how flour made from the most common grains can hurt us. Instead, ingredients such as ground flaxseed and flour made from blanched almonds will have your kitchen smelling like heaven and your family begging for more.

Paleo Bread begins by reviewing the many health benefits of a Paleo diet which helps readers understand how a Paleo diet can help alleviate some of their health concerns. The author concludes with a chapter full of delicious-sounding recipes including dinner rolls, sandwich breads and cinnamon raisin bread that make a switch to Paleo is a realistic option for those of us that simply can’t give up bread completely.

Together with John Chatham’s other book, “Paleo For Beginners”, this book offers a lot of different kinds of food acceptable in the paleo diet. If this is your first of his, fear not, there are still tips for getting started and keeping it up. Included are 28 recipes, written plainly enough for me (and I’m not a culinary expert by any means) to easily make delicious gluten-free food. So eat like a smart caveman, taking advantage of modern foods made from ingredients in the paleo diet. It’s true, you can have your pizza and eat it too.

Paleo Bread: Gluten-Free Bread Recipes for a Paleo Diet is perfect for those looking for a guide to a healthy life style. With a boyfriend with a gamete of digestive issues, I tried out the Paleo Diet as a possible solution to his mystery stomach pain. After discovering and reading this book, I was not only taught the details of the diet but what it takes to maintain a gluten free lifestyle. Most importantly, I could explain it all to him! The book is an easy and interesting read and is perfect for those with medical issues or just with the desire to be healthier. John Chatham offers a number of step by step recipes for a diet that doesn’t limit us to cutting out some of our favorite, bread containing, foods and lists simple and fresh foods to eat on a daily basis. Worth the read!

The Paleo diet is famous for encouraging meat, even steak, but it also cuts out a lot of foods too, bread, for example. This had always been too big of a drawback for me to ignore. However, after reading this book and learning about some of the products that were available, I decided to give the Paleo diet another chance. I bought some gluten-free bread from the store and was surprised when it actually tasted good. But what really caught me off guard were the recipes the book provided. The Rosemary bread and the Herb bread were amazing! If you haven’t tried making your own gluten-free bread, look no further. Paleo Bread: Gluten-Free Recipes for a Paleo Diet is a fantastic book. You won’t be disappointed.

I am so happy I discovered this book! I had been wondering for some time why so many people were concerned with gluten. I didn't even know what gluten was! After reading Paleo Bread by John Chatham I not only got the anwers to my questions I have changed my diet completely. "The Caveman Diet" is simple and easy to implement and my wife and I feel great. This book isn't just for those with gluten intolerence. Mr. Chatham clearly defines the health benefits of changing dietary habits. I recommend this book to anyone who is curious about the health and lifestyle benefits of going gluten-free. You will be happy too.

I was really impressed with John Chatham’s Paleo Bread! I have suffered with celiac disease for many years and normally just go without eating the pricy gluten free breads in the grocery store because I can’t afford them. Now I don’t have to! This book gives a great summary on the well known Paleo Diet, but includes close to 20 recipes for delicious gluten free bread.   From dinner rolls to chocolate chip banana bread, these recipes will keep me satisfied but allow me to follow my gluten free/paleo diet.  I can’t wait to try the pizza crust recipe. Yum!

I always knew that eating more naturally, like our ancestors the cavemen, was the way to go. Mr. Chatham gives the reader the background to the Paleo diet and also offers many tantalizing bread recipes which are both wholesome and delicious. His entertaining book shows me how I can beat the supermarket propaganda and shun processed junk, while still enjoying the comfort of bread. As a die-hard bread fan, this book is what makes the Paleo diet work for me.

The beginning is a clear explanation of the overall tenets of the Paleo diet and how it can positively change your health. The meat of the cookbook comprises of countless delicious recipes ranging from sweet, dessert breads to savory dinner rolls and pizza dough. Anyone who is worried that a Paleo diet would limit their food options need only flip through the pages of this well-composed cookbook! I cant wait to start baking some of these fabulous recipes.

This book is exceptional in its ability to quickly summarize key aspects of the paleo and gluten-free diet, provide tips for accomplishing this diet, and giving excellent, easy-to-do recipes for those who want to try this diet out. It fits perfectly on any cooking shelf and is an excellent reference for those who are following the gluten-free recipe or not. The bread recipes are a favorite amongst my friends, not because of their own dietary needs, but simply because they are delicious. There is a recipe for every meal and craving. Give it a try!

Chatham breaks down the background of the Paleo diet in easy to understand terms and the recipes are great- even if you’re a beginner cook. Overall this book is an essential if you’re looking into the Paleo diet, or already in the middle of it and stumped on ideas of what to eat.

For Paleo dieters who miss eating bread, the good news is that you can eat it again. This book contains bread recipes that don’t call for baking with processed white flour. You can use almond floor and coconut flour, instead. It sounds great!
