Anyone who is lucky enough to have met or worked with Darryl Edwards will know that he has a unique way of conveying some pretty complex information in a digestible and simplistic way. His first book; Paleo Fitness, adopts the same common sense approach making it by far the most straight forward book on Paleo I have read yet. It also has the added advantage of being written by a British author, immediately making you feel at home. The Paleo diet is not new to me, but I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great opening to Paleo - it not only has everything you need to get started on the diet front but also has a selection of fitness plans to suit all abilities including, individual photographs and explanations of each of the movements. If you are already on the Paleo Diet, this book acts as a valuable reference resource, with clearly marked sections making it easy to dip in and out and find what you are looking for. There's a 2-week diet plan and a delicious recipe section, which brings some exciting new ideas to the Paleo Diet like the Coconut Surprise "Cereal". What I also love is the FAQ section at the back, which answers all of those initial, transitional questions you have when making the change over to Paleo. Darryl is a not only a Primal diet and movement expert, but I believe a philosopher too, so expect not only to be told what is good and what is bad, but also why. The `why' part is the bit that teaches you and helps you remain on track with your Paleo Fitness plan. We are very lucky to have Darryl here in the UK; I hope this is the first of more books to come from such an insightful author and teacher.

This was a great exercise book based on natural body movement with a Paleo twist. I loved the unique exercises offered in this book, similar to "Training for Warriors" by Martin Rooney. The exercises were simple, but very effective! I tried them out!) Most of the exercises were body weight and can easily be done right from at home. (The only thing you will need for some exercise is a pull-up bar, kettlebells, dumbbells, and possibly a parked car!) The only problem I had was with the static nature of the program. There are specific exercises that are done on specific . I look for more programs that are a little flexible. There are customizations, but not enough for me. I prefer to pick and choose based on my needs and goals at the time. The Paleo nutrition section is concise,but definitely helpful. For me, the book is a perfect complement to Mark SIsson's "Primal BluePrint" book. Mark Sisson's program has days for cardio and the crawls and walks from this book.  I would not recommend this book for beginners yet but for more intermediate and advanced athlethes who are looking to add more variety to their workouts. Pros: Easy to follow along exercises, Like the 2 Week Paleo Primer Cons: Weekly schedule quite a bit of work and effort. A little hard to customize

Paleo Fitness is a simple yet comprehensive guide on how to get into shape, clean up your diet, and have a good time doing it! Growing up I was never involved in sports, so as an adult that has made me pretty uncoordinated and intimated by fitness... that and I tend to get burnt out and bored easily. Paleo Fitness incorporates a playful technique, giving you the tools to make any environment your gym, using mostly bodyweight. I've be fortunate enough to have been to a few workshops led by Darryl and let me tell you, you can get a killer workout before you know it by simply changing your mindset and making it a game. I feel like a kid again, seeing how far I can sprint, jump and climb! Paleo Fitness comes equipped with a 2-week paleo eating plan, with recipes, and 3 levels of 4-week fitness programing (12 weeks total), with space to track your progress. I would also like to point out that the meal plan is pork free, which is major for me and nearly impossible to find. In addition, it breaks down all of the basics and pertinent information on how to transition to paleo. This is a good handbook whether someone is a newbie or paleo veteran!

I've been following a Paleo lifestye for several years and have been active and in sports pretty much my whole life and I learned so  much from this book. Darryl explains the nutritional reasoning so everyone can understand it. He leads you through an eating plan so  that it will become second nature to you and educates you about movement. He includes a 4 week movement program  for Levels I, II and III so every fitness level is included. There are full descriptions of the exercises and recipes that go along  with the menu plans. I think this book will be benefitial to anyone whether you are already Paleo or not.  A great book to have as it's a wonderful resource for complete health.

This book is not huge but I am actually viewing that as a positive. Some of the fitness books that are huge are so full of fluff and you never seem to get to the meat of the information. Paleo Fitness is 176 pages and jam packed full of great information. There is information about nutrition, Paleo workouts and multiple different levels so you can benefit from this book no matter what fitness level you are at. The Appendix has a section on measurements and recipes. Then there is even more information in the FAQs and resources. Darryl did a great job presenting information that will benefit anyone that chooses to pursue a Paleo diet and increasing their fitness levels. I give this book 4 stars and Darryl did a great job with this one. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Although I am not a native English speaker, this book was easy to follow.  Finally I have found a book that is very logical and clear.  What I really love about this book is that I discovered that breakfast can be more than just a few boiled eggs (which I have been used to eating for the last 2 years).  Now I have a number of alternative, quick breakfasts.  The structured meal plan makes the paleo diet easier to follow as it means I don't have to question is something Paleo or not.  Lots of good recipe examples. The exercises are a breath of fresh air, and are lots of fun.  Simple movement can be so functional.  It gives you ideas of how you can work out at home, without lots of equipment or lots of space and make it an amazing workout.  You don't need a gym at home, you can go outside. Reading about Darryl's story felt very similar to my situation, sitting all day in the office, lots of stress, not enough time to have proper lunch.  It makes me realise I can succeed too, and it is worth trying to make healthier choices.
