Disclosure here: I was given this book for free to review. If you're anyone who's interested in the Paleo Diet, this is one of the best books out there. It provides concise information about what the Paleo diet is about. In a nutshell, the Western diet is not good for our health, and certainly not what our ancestors are presumed to have eaten. The Paleo diet aims to correct these wrongs, and put things in balance. What's included is a list of Paleo-friendly foods, and those that are not-so-friendly. They then include delicious recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts. The list is extensive, but recipes are easy to do. Would recommend this book!

I thought that this book was a great and informative read. I learned many things about my diet that was limiting my weight loss success. The history and origin of the agriculture diet was described and explained. The ill effects of gluten were thoroughly explained  and even describes what is happening to your body when this substance is immersed into your body. Many ailments affect people and they have no idea that the cause is from the things that they  are eating everyday. Paleo for Beginners shows you how to transition your kitchen into a healthy place meant for a healthy lifestyle. I recommend this book for anyone that wants to make a dietary change and improve their overall health

This cookbook covers the Paleo lifestyle and diet.  While this book includes recipes, I think the most important thing is the information concerning the type of Paleo you might be looking for.  The many types of food that are included cover different types of meals of the day like Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks.  This book could be helpful to someone who wants a different type of foods to eat.

“Paleo for Beginners” is outstanding. I gained immense knowledge about bodies, health, and our lifestyles. It is very thorough, with more than enough ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The diet doesn’t deprive you of desserts, but instead teaches a healthy approach to sugars.

Looking to get into shape for the new year, I decided to try the Paleo diet again. What I like about this book is, even though I've tried this diet before, it offers tips for grocery shopping and even offers special advice for those of us trying to lose weight. It's a good buy.

Good explanation of Paleo—its foods and benefits, along with some very good recipes. However, it reads like anti-gluten propaganda with the big promises of a fad diet. I can love the recipes but I can really do without the superiority complex. Fad diets and the Next Big Thing in weight loss are always big turn-offs for me.

This book includes everything you need to know about the history of Paleo and benefits of the diet for your health.  The information is easy to understand and apply.  I loved the 10 Steps for Success included in this book.  Very realistic ways to help integrate the healthier elements of the diet into daily life, and keep motivated!  It also offers plenty of healthy recipes and even a grocery list guide to get you started.  Definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in improving their diets and health!

Admittedly so, the 30 day diet not only looks good, but is probably quite delicious. What is difficult for me to digest are the facts brought to light in regards to disases of the affluent. A small amount of possible facts, but the remaining seems more like old wives tales.

Paleo for beginners is an informative guide to a "caveman" inspired way of eating. The book promises readers that this holistic, healthy approach can and will dramatically change lives while making us healthier and bringing our bodies to a higher level of "well being". -jennifer

Now that I have read Paleo for Beginners, it seems much more feasible to tackle a dietary change. This book is both informative and through, explaining why this style of eating works and how to make it family friendly. The Spiced Banana Coconut waffles and the pad Thai with zucchini and carrot noodles sound easy to make and will appeal to a wide audience. Can’t wait to try the Mango Almond custard!

This book is excellent if you wish to learn more about and alternative diet. The book is very clearly written and has simple explanations for why the diet is used by people and how to begin. Walks newcomers through all the steps they will need from what food to buy all the way through how to determine your specific dietary needs

This book is a great introduction to a Paleo lifestyle - from what the diet is to how to achieve the diet with recipes. It guides the reader step by step through the transition process to living a Paleo life. It provides tips on groceries to buy, what NOT to buy and kitchen equipment to buy that will make your Paleo life a bit easier. Personally, I'm not sure I believe that gluten/grains are bad for all people, but I do know a significant amount of people that are affected by gluten. To get you started, there are 150 recipes included in the book - I was especially excited about the dessert recipes!

African Sweet Potato Soup! Pasta made from zucchini ribbons in a luscious fresh tomato sauce! Chicken, pistachio, and fig salad! After reading PALEO FOR BEGINNERS, I realized that I could eat deliciously and well by exchanging my 21st century diet for one "as old as time". You can still enjoy luscious desserts (chocolate mousse! coconut sorbet!) but feel healthy, not heavy, after a meal.  With Paleo for Beginners, anyone can learn the best way to nourish the body and get truly healthy. Loads of great recipes, menus, and shopping lists make this transition much easier than you would think. The reward for eating the Paleo way: feeling and looking really good!

Mimicking the diet by mankind’s pre-processed food forebears, the Paleo diet blasts the follower full of the essential nutrients necessary for a healthy mind and body without the inane chemical additives to increase shelf life. The 150 recipes are a veritable bonus.

Paleo for Beginners (Sonoma Press) 30-day menus would have drawn Paleolithic man and woman from their caves even in the face of lions and tigers. This book has 150 scrumptious recipes - although you will need time to prepare them. Clear the cooking area of lions. Utilize menus for athletes, special health needs, Shopping Lists and Nutritional Value of Paleo Foods. Gluten is forbidden. There are Ten Steps for Success, a large Glossary and 26 source citations at the end. It's a winner!

A good start for a Paleo lifestyle. This book explains in easy, yet precise, terms about the Paleo lifestyle from a beginner’s point of view. It starts with what a caveman would eat and how to avoid harmful modern agricultural techniques.

This is a really good beginner’s guide. I appreciate a book that does all the work for the reader as far as grocery lists, meal plans, and tips on keeping up with the diet. Best of all, the recipes listed sound more like they are from a good cookbook, as opposed to a diet cookbook.
