Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Beverly Melasi
Panda Foo, Jigger, and Boodle are planning to go on a picnic. Panda Foo says he has invited along a new friend named Curly. Jigger and Boodle are very curious about the new friend and have lots of questions. Is she big or is she small? What does she like? Why is she called Curly? Boodle is not quite sure how he feels about making a new friend, but Panda Foo is patient. First they go swimming and then build a sandcastle. At last Boodle is ready to meet Curly. She is blue in color and very nice. Jigger is surprised that Curly knows their names. There is a lot of food, and everything Curly tries, Boodle tries too. She introduces a new game, and they all play. The four friends have a wonderful time on their picnic. This is a picture book that introduces diversity by celebrating the things cultures share in common. Reviewer: Beverly Melasi
