Overview

Pandora and her friends are off to Persia to track down the fifth evil, Rage. Though they have camels to help them travel across the desert, mysterious sandstorms and frightening strangers keep them from moving quickly. And they are down one team member with Alcie stuck in the underworld (but not for long).

The underworld's coolest teenager, Persephone returns Alcie to her friends. With their team back in full force, Pandy & Co begin asking everyone they meet about the evil. And a boy named Douban thinks he knows where Rage is hiding. He tells the tale of an evil genie who has cursed his family. Now the genie is trapped in a lamp and there's a good chance the evil is trapped in there with him.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Cara Chancellor
Rage. Pandora, better known as Pandy, knows it is somewhere in Persia. She already has recaptured Jealousy, Vanity, Laziness, and Lust in her magic box, but Rage may be the most difficult yet. Pandy started out on her quest with three friends: Homer, Iole, and Alcestis, but Alcestis gave her life to capture the last evil. Now, Pandy's biggest hurdle may not be Rage, or even the evil goddess Hera, who killed Alcie and is after Pandy next, but sorrow. As she and Homer struggle through the desert with a deathly ill Iole, Alcie, who all the gods (except Hera) agree should not really be dead, is making plans of her own in the underworld. Unfortunately for them both, the Greek gods of their homeland are not the ultimate power in Persia; the jinn and their mysterious roc masters hold sway. Without her magic, and—more importantly—without Alcie, will Pandora ever be able to capture all the evils she unintentionally released? Hennesy's take on mythology is bright and effervescent, incorporating traits and plotlines for which the characters' namesakes are known without ever making the storyline too complex. The book's one downfall is its characters, which, while likeable, seem virtually interchangeable. Still, the plot is fast-paced and interesting, and its abridged, modernized versions of stories from Greek mythology and One Thousand and One Nights may pique younger readers' interest in these literary staples. GREAT BOOK!

Even though I only read the sample, I really like this book and the series. I feel sad about Alcie dying (stupid Hera). Luckily, shes freed. I am going to buy this when I get a Nook gift card.

But anyway, read the books. And, by the way, above is a reincarnated version of the earlier "Every boady is a greek" reply. I just wrote it so it made more sense. (It really doesnt, but yyyeeeaaaa) See yah, Greeks (not geeks, greeks)
