    a must read for therapists

I am a psychologist who hasbeen treating anxiety disorders for many years the way I was taught in school.I learned about this book when a patient was frustrated with the lack of improvement he was making in his treatment. He asked me to read Panic Free and I was horrified to discover nearly everything I was doing was wrong.Panic Free educated me for the first time about all the subtle symptoms and medical conditions associated with anxiety and panic. It provides very effective tools and excecises .I was so certain my patient must have had some underlying reason for remaining agarophobic.Now. I have learned otherwise. I strongly urge my colleagues to buy this book before they treat one more patient for anxiety.

    This book saved my life!

After taking every anti-anxiety medication available and experiencing no benefits - only side effects - I was ready to give up. Fortunately, a friend recommended that I read Dr. Freeman's PANIC FREE. By practicing the techniques that she outlines as well as learning that some of the over-the-counter medications I was taking for allergies were actually increasing my anxiety, my symptoms dramatically improved. I've read many books on anxiety but nothing has been as helpful as this book.

If You Only Want To Buy One Book....

If you only want one book to help you learn actually how to take control again when facing anxiety or panic attacks, this is it. Dr. Freeman has written this non-preachy book based on her experiences as both a sufferer of panic anxiety herself, and as a psychotherapist. It's full of sound, practical advice, and is written to be easily understood by people who experience this disorder, as well as those who love them. You'll want to refer back to it again and again.
