Okay...not at all what i expected

I only gave this book three stars for several reasons...it started off very innocent and I had a clear thought of how this book would go, but as I started reading that idea was obliterated secondly, it is very wordy throughout;there is some dialogue in some places, but the majority of the book is a lot of endless sentences, however for a short book, it worked...I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see what was the cause of the "monster"

Excellent! Thoroughly engaging, gripping stuff from start to finish. The pace is pretty relentless, and the tension is cranked up nicely throughout. I've never been to Wales, but the setting sounds awesome - quite cinematic actually [a movie in the making for sure]. Most surprisingly, for a horror/zombie theme the characters are incredibly well fleshed out [pun intended] as people who's back story and struggle for survival in amongst the chaos makes you actually care about them. I understand from the authors website this is his first novel, and with that in mind, it's an astonishingly accomplished piece of work. I very much look forward to the follow up 'Psychosis', which is due later this year. A real page turner from start to finish. Five stars.
