This is a marvelous compilation of myths from around the world: western, non-western, and Native American. It is a great book for classes focusing on world mythology. Easy to read, easy to digest, and full of great references to other works.
Good read. Lots of information wished i learned in college.
I was hoping for an insightful glance into world myth, with potentially some insights I hadn't seen, from someone familiar with many traditions. Unfortunately, there were so many problems– fundamental inaccuracies, vital omissions, and questionable sources– within the first few chapters, that I couldn't force myself to finish the rest of the book. For a legitimate introduction to world myth, go elsewhere. Anywhere.
