More About This Textbook

This is the most thorough book available to assist Paramedics in their preparation for National or Local Paramedic Certification Examinations. This self-test book covers all possible questions that any paramedic may be asked on any exam, requiring users to demonstrate knowledge of the material, and teaches better test-taking skills. All questions adhere to the 1998 EMT-Paramedic National Standard Curriculum as set forth by the DOT, and for the 5/e have been revised to reflect the recommended changes published in the December 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

It might be useful for leveling a wobbly table leg.

It's ashamed that I can't give this book 1/2 a star, because that's what it deserves. This book is more for factual use-less knowledge that you will never use in the real world of EMS. It might be useful for leveling a wobbly table leg. I am so glad that I didn't rely on this book as my only study resource. It seems that the only thing that Brady hoped to accomplish by publishing this book was to get people to purchase more of their books. I studied my old paramedic text books and paramedic school notes, reviewed my ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, AMLS texts and passed my NREMT-P exam on the first try. I have to say no thanks to this book.

    Thorough coverage of book material.

This book came recommended to me as a final polish for your book studying. If you've taken NREMT tests, you'll know that not all of their questions reside in the realm of common sense and street smarts. There are always some questions that are based from the reading material. I found that after taking the class and doing my ride time, this book did an extremely thorough job of hitting about every point/fact mentioned in the book, maybe even too exhaustively. If you prefer to be tested and review your mistakes rather than just re-reading the text(s), this book is an excellent compass for determining what you should study. Especially since the book itself does not justify the answer, but instead, directs you to the appropriate pages of either text (Brady or Mosby?). Don't neglect ACLS, PALS/PEPP, or CPR.
