Overview

"Baron Ford," he says and pauses to pick apart my expression, attempting to read how familiar I am with that name. I nod stiffly to give no indication I know exactly, who that is. I'm shocked to hear it in this setting, at this stage of my life, the one far away from Cambridge, Massachusetts over five years later."

Advertising Executive, Clarity Parker thought she would never see Baron Ford again. Five years ago, she fell in love with him on their magical first date and then poof--he literally vanished into thin air. That's why she's stunned to hear his name again. After all, five years have passed since that night, and now, to add intrigue to insult, he's requested that she be exclusively assigned to his multi-million dollar account.

Clarity makes every effort to avoid Baron Ford but when he finally catches up to her he issues a warning; things are not safe for her in the city anymore, especially since the strange fog has settled over Manhattan.

Before the foggy day is over Clarity's entire world will come crashing down. Everything about her life that she thought was true is a lie! And there's no time to question her soap opera star mother or business mogul father about it because Baron was right, her life is in danger, and so is his!

One thing's for sure, from this point on, the world as Clarity Parker knows it will never be the same.

From Parched:

Baron lifts my chin with his index finger, lowers his mouth to mine and our lips are pressed together. The feel is warm and soft as always, and then we're engaging in the perfect kiss. His hands are at the small of my back again, pulling me into him until he whisks me up off the sofa and into his arms. We're moving at what seems like the speed of light towards the bedroom until I'm lying on top of the bed.
He slips my dress off over my head and pulls back to take in the sight of me in the black panties and bra. I never felt so beautiful in my life--never wanted to feel this beautiful before. When he closes his eyes and clenches his jaw, I can clearly see that he's aroused. I am too, and am wondering if this is truly about to happen?

This is the first book in the Parched Series. Clarity Parker has a great job and wants for nothing. That is until she meets Baron Ford. All through this book Clarity has to be patient to find out what is so special about her while everyone else seems to already know. She has to put her trust not only in Baron Ford but her Guardian, Viesel Egos. This is not your regular vampire story. This has twists and turns and gives you a new perspective about God and Adam and Eve. This book does not overwhelm you with the religious background but gives you just enough to understand how everything began. This is a good book and I will continue to follow the series

This book was painful to finish.  It was very hard to relate to the characters and it was overly detailed. And I really HATED the ending!

    Not a fan

This is all done in true first person and is really to read. I skipped large sections because so much time was spent on detailed descriptions of things that added nothing to the story. I was never able to connect with the main character so none of the other characters really developed for me either since it was all done from her perspective. The actual premis of the story was intersting but it didn't pan out for me. I won't be reading anymore in this series.
