Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
Sarah McMenemy’s handsomely illustrated mini books open up accordion-style to show famous landmarks of world cities with fun facts.
—Time Out Chicago Kids
Children's Literature - Karen Leggett
The favorite sites of Paris can now stretch along your desk in a very cleverly conceived work of paper engineering. The small book opens like an accordion with the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre pyramid, the Moulin Rouge and eight more sites all popping out of the pages. The illustrations look much like the lightly painted pen and ink sketches you might buy from a kiosk along the Seine. A dozen memorable spots are included, each with a paragraph of interesting facts—the exposed air conditioning ducts at the Pompidou Center, for example, or the Paris Opera as the inspiration for The Phantom of the Opera. Children who are not familiar with Paris or the great artists and writers who have called it home will probably be more interested in the book's construction than the information it offers. But this little bit of artistry serves very well as an introduction to the grandeur of Paris or indeed, as a keepsake for anyone lucky enough to visit. Reviewer: Karen Leggett
