This book needs to be on the nook! I'm going to Paris for a month and am only taking my nook instead of a bunch of heavy books. I wish I could take this book with me!!!!

I'm a little confused at the 1 star rating this book has when the review prior to mine gives it 4 stars.* Anyway, everything about this book was a delight. From the red cover to the illustrations to the totally chic photos of the author's daughter. For anyone who's ever wondered how French women manage to always seem so chic, this book helpfully breaks everything down. What I especially loved was the section at the back where the author shares all her Paris favorites... restaurants, cafes, shops, etc.... Highly recommended. * Hopefully my glowing review and FIVE stars bump up the rating.

Unable to find this book in stores, I had no idea what I was getting when I ordered it online. What I expected the book to be was a guide on how to dress more like a Parisian woman, who are noted throughout style guides as women who make less work with more. What you receive instead is a surprisingly large Moleskine-quality (if not Moleskine itself) soft covered notebook. There are close to a hundred pages dedicated to the do's and don'ts of Parisian style that covers clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty, with mentions of where to purchase her 7 Must Have Items on each side of the Pond. But the rest of the book is dedicated to Styling Your Home like a Parisian or where to eat, shop and stay if you're in Paris. Had I but known about the home decor pages and the pages dedicated to "Where to... in Paris" before I bought it, I most likely would be a bit more disappointed. However, as I am going to Paris in the not-so-distant future, I'm looking forward to visiting just a bit more now. Though overall my opinion is still that Ms. de La Fressange could (and should) write a more in-depth book about Parisian (Fashion) Chic.
