I downloaded this book yesterday on my Kindle and literally couldn't put it down once I started reading it in bed last night. As a person with PD (Parkinson's Disease), I find it so refreshing and uplifting to read about Bev's ability to look for the humor in her circumstances. She turns potentially embarrassing moments into opportunities to laugh, lifting hearts and making new friends on her journey. I highly recommend this book to anyone with PD, family members and friends of PD folks, caregiv

If you want a glimpse into the daily realities of living with a chronic condition such as Young-Onset Parkinson's Disease, I highly recommend you pick up Parkinson's Humor by Beverly Ribaudo. Bev is well-known among the “Parkie” community as @YumaBev on Twitter and in PD chatrooms. She is irrepressible and stubbornly pushes on in the face of the fatigue and other symptoms experienced by people with PD! Her self-characterization as an “Energeezer Parkie” is priceless!

I used my husband's Amazon account to buy this book.As a person with young onset Parkinson's I know Bev from Twitter and when I heard she had put a book together I was keen to buy it. You might think that Parkinson's is no laughing matter but I think Bev's approach is very healthy;let's face it what's the alternative? It's a challenging disease but facing it with a positive mindset is far preferable to looking on the dark side of life. As well as Bev's humour, there are also some very informative

Bev Ribaudo, what an absolutely uplifting and funny book. It came at 6 PM today by UPS and I am already on page 98. As I read, hardly a page goes by that I don't tell my Wonderful Wife, who is 28 years my junior about what you have written about you and your Wonderful Husband who is 20 years your senior. You have written a book that is well worth the ten bucks and should be read by anyone with PD, their caretakers and anyone who wants to know what life is like with PD. Good job girl.
Jeff

I am a caregiver for a parkie....this book really can help you get through the tough times with a good belly laugh. I highly recommend it for the parkie and the parkie caregiver. It will put a smile on your face and you can relate to each of her "issues" as you walk with this disease. It also will help those new to this disease as well as those of you just curious about it. Parkinson's is not just a shaking disease......"Have a Happy Parkie Day!" back at the author!!!!!

Yuma Bev puts a very real, but always smiling face on Parkinson's disease. She has you smiling or laughing out loud every story. Her analogies are spot on. This was one of the best reads I've had in a long time. Watch out Michael J Fox, this book might outshine your Lucky Man!

I plan to share this book with our Stephen Ministers to help them learn about some of the challenges and ways of coping with Parkinson's. The stories are not too technical and the humor is wonderful. Kudos to Yuma Bev!
