This author is world renowned for her animal behavioral training and shares her many success stories with you throughout this book, but then gives very loose instructions on how to actually impliment the positive reinforment training in your home. This book is a good reference for understanding behavioral problems and relating them to instinctual patterns to better understand your bird's behavior, but falls short in instructing the human. She is not the best writer.

Barbara Heidenreich's book should be on the required reading list for anyone who currently has, or is considering adopting, a companion parrot. The book is based on proven principles of behavioral science, and has concrete examples and workable strategies to help parrot owners better understand and shape the behavior of these intelligent and sensitive creatures. It is simply the best, most accessible book currently available to parrot owners.
