Overview

Scarlet knew better than to give her virginity to a traveling preacher, but desire and logic don't mix in matters of the spirit.

When a traveling revival preacher whips the quiet southern town of Jeffers Crook into a spiritual frenzy, Scarlet finds herself drawn to the mysterious and charismatic Brother Samuel. From the way he looks at her while the congregation bows their heads in prayer, even the holiest men can be tempted by desire.

But to give herself to this drifter means to risk everything that she knows. Is Samuel's interest genuine, or will she be left behind by a seductive rogue?

Warning: This 5,100-word story contains explicit adult content, including the deflowering of an innocent virgin by a preacher, rough, passionate sex, reluctant sex, bareback sex, and possible impregnation.

Excerpt:

They walked down to the water, hand in hand. Scarlet slipped out of her flats and left them on the shore beside his loafers as she stepped into the cool running water. Her feet pressed against smooth pebbles, slick and uneven, but Samuel held her steady as he led her into the water, where the sandy bottom gave firmer footing.

The black liquid closed around her calves and enveloped her legs as she went deeper. Scarlet gasped, watching her skirts grow damp and spread across the surface, pulled downstream by the current. A chill ran through her as the water passed her hips, soaking her white cotton panties.

Samuel turned her sideways and clasped her right hand in his left, resting his other palm against her back. If they were on dry land, they could have begun dancing. Scarlet shivered even though the water wasn't cold. This close to the man, she felt heat rise between her legs, a desire she'd been pretending to ignore. Samuel's eyes searched hers, and she imagined that he could feel that heat, sense her forbidden urges.

"Do you want me to say the words?" he asked her, and with that, she knew that he saw through her. She had come for something physical, not spiritual. But the way he had looked at her during the prayer told her that she wasn't alone in her desire.

"No," she said. "I want what you want."

Instead of lowering her into the water, Samuel pulled her against his chest. Scarlet's full bosom pressed against his hard pectoral muscles, and she felt the warmth of his body beneath his damp shirt even as it wicked moisture into her dress. Their eyes met for an interminable moment, and then he kissed her.

Since the moment Brother Samuel had come to town, Scarlet had been intrigued by his calm, gentle nature. Samuel seemed a man completely at peace with the world around him. Yet she felt none of that gentleness now. Samuel's lips pressed against hers with an unrestrained hunger, and she gasped in surprise at the fire in his kiss. Samuel's tongue forced her lips apart, and Scarlet surrendered, letting him probe her mouth.

She glanced up at the slope again, terrified that someone would come back for a forgotten hat or wallet. But even as the terror made her pulse quicken, it made this forbidden encounter that much more thrilling as the strong, firm hand on her back slid downward to cup the swell of her buttock. He gave her a hard squeeze, and Scarlet jerked away and let out a little yelp. She gaped at him, her mouth open in disbelief and outrage, but Samuel only flashed that charismatic grin and pulled her close again. This time his mouth found her neck, covering it in wet, hungry kisses that made her skin tingle. She felt a flush rise on her neck as though the heat of her body was drawn to his lips.

"We shouldn't be doing this," she murmured. "What if someone sees?"
