About the Author

Michael K. Middleton is a graduate fellow and assistant director of forensics in the Department of Communication at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Before coaching at Utah, he coached at California State University-Long Beach after eight years of experience in competitive forensics, including both debate and student congress (youth parliament). He also teaches regularly at national institutes in events such as Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Policy Debate, Public Forum Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Student Congress.
