Meet the Author

Lorraine Heath wrote her first story at seven, and it involved a fisherman who fell in love with a mermaid. She has since moved on to writing about sexy cowboys and dashing English lords (and sometimes, cleverly, in the same book!). Publishers Weekly says she is a "master of her craft." She is, indeed, and along with being a New York Times and USA Today bestseller, she has won the RITA® Award, Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award, and a Career Achievement Award.

    Great author.

This was a terrific book. I have never read a book by this author before, but I plan to read more.

This story is about a marriage of convience with a unique twists. A woman is saved by a man one night. He surprises her by offering her marriage. He is a widowed man who would like a mother for his three young children. She agrees. Unfortunately, the man she is marrying in dying and he has not told her. When they return to his home, she meets her husband's brother and begins to fall in love with him. The brother is also falling in love with her. They are both full of guilt for their feelings for each other.

I did not want to put this book down. The story pulled at my heart strings and touched me deeply. Great story.

Good Book.. I could not put the book down.  I stayed up late at night to finish it.
The ending made me cry..  just a warning to have a hankie ready.  You kind of know what is going to happen, but it's a good happening.
a Love story about 3 people.  And the love also of Charles for his children.    Charles married Maddie, when he saw she was being
sold at a Texas Brothel as a virgin.  Maddie was homeless, no place to go.  There is a story behind how Maddie became homeless.
you won't regret reading this book. Charles knew he was going to die, never told Maddie.  Charles brother, used to be a Texas Ranger.  Need I say any more.you Won't regret reading this book.

    Brotherly Love?

I am a huge Lorraine Heath fan and I really liked the characters in this book. Just not sure I liked one brother playing kissy-face with another brother's wife.

    My Favorite by Lorraine Heath

I have read this book several times and loved it each and every time. The characters are all real to me, and and the story is a touching testament to human character. I wish all of us could be as unselfish as Charles.
