Partnership in Transition: U. S. - Israel Strategic Cooperation Beyond the Cold Warby Ilan Berman, James Colbert (Editor)
The 20th Century heralded a new age of warfare with the development of the ballistic missile. Since the 1940s, ballistic missiles, and the race to develop them, has had profound effects on many nations the world over. On February 22 and 23, 1999, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, the Boeing Company, the Strategic Studies Institute of the U.S. Army War College and the Gettler Family Foundation assembled a group of scholars, experts, policymakers and strategists. Over the course of two days, they met to discuss the political, sociological and military implications stemming from the development and deployment of ballistic missiles. The proceedings from this conference are contained in this 258-page large format book, including panelists' submitted papers, biographical sketches, and glossary of terms.
