Party of Defeat: How Democrats and Radicals Undermined America's War on Terror Before and After 9-11

( 4 )

Overview

Party of Defeat is a well-documented and disturbing account of the unprecedented attacks by leaders of the Democratic Party on a war they supported and then turned their backs on. In a democracy, criticism of war policy is legitimate and necessary. But deliberate undermining of a war policy, the authors urge, is another matter entirely. Every American concerned about the future of their country in the war on terror should consider the arguments in this book. — [Blurb signed by] Senators Jim Bunning, Tom Coburn, ...

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

Horowitz collaborates with his FrontPage Magazine coeditor Johnson in a vitriolic attack on the left's "cowardly" betrayal of "the American cause," singling out the antiwar stances of John Edwards, Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi for special reproach. According to the authors, "a nation divided during wartime is a nation that invites its own defeat," and they argue that through ignorance and design, Democrats have obstructed presidential policy, undermined American security and continually failed to grasp the nature of the "Islamofascist" threat. Cataloguing Democratic miscalculations from the Carter administration on, the book asserts that Carter encouraged the Iranian revolution, Clinton fatally ignored bin Laden and Bush's wiretapping program was perniciously leaked to the New York Times. Their earnest moralizing overshadows these compelling fact patterns as Horowitz and Johnson omit intellectual or historical contextualization that might ratchet down the fever pitch of their argument; sadly, this sensationalism comes at the expense of some truly effective excoriations of liberal figures-particularly a brutal and delicious takedown of Frank Rich. dangers of deviding the country

'Party of defeat' is a remarkable look at the anti war efforts and of senators clinton, obama, and kerry and what they have done to hinder the war on terror and how their critisms have gone over the line which make our brave men and women weaker on the battle field. this fasinating page turner also shows that we need a united front on the war on terror and anti war efforts by leftest politicans will devide the country and leave us open for another terrorist attack. this publication would make a wonderful gift idea for a friend or family.
