Newly Revised 3ed Edition!

Know What You Eat! Use the Passeport Gastronomique Menu Translator, Phrasebook and Pronunciation guide.

Don't be confused when dining out in the Netherlands. This convenient book translates 100s of common (and not-so-common) items to be found on Dutch menus. Kikkerbilletjes are frog's legs...Kippenborst is a chicken breast and Koekjes are cookies.

Organized alphabetically, each menu item is listed in its native language in bold, followed by a short, English translation in a light, italic face for easy reading.

In addition to the hundreds of food menu translations, Passeport Gastronomique also includes useful phrases and pronunciation guides.

Looking for the same, great Menu Translator without the phrasebook or pronunciation guide, try our Menus(e)! series as an alternative. Search on Menus(e)

If you are a culinary disaster (like myself), you probably don't know your aloyau from your limaces. And lacking skills to read a foreign menu can be a pretty miserable experience.
A basic translation error could mean the difference between ordering a steak, or a plate full of fried lamb intestines.
Thankfully, there is the "Passeport Gastronomique".

What a wonderful and surprisingly handy book to have! I have been living in the Netherlands for a few years now and find the Passepoort Gastronomique for The Netherlands a learning experience on almost every page! How could I not have known what a Kandeel drink was?!? Or a Kruisdisteloesterzwam, Rolliches or Gaffelbitter? This book is not just a dictionary of terms, but an eye into the culture of a country. It's a very handy guide for anyone considering vacationing or moving to the Netherlands.

...Up to this point, I have always recommended the Marling Menu-Master, which is certainly a great resource. But now, there is a new eBook on the scene that would give you the same result, but in a new downloadable format.
Passeport Gastronomique offers foreign menu language translations for France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Sweden and The Netherlands...direct to your Smartphone or eReader.
It's a great way to get the info & security, but at a fraction of the cost (under $10)
