All it is meant to be, but typical

Being a WDW visitor every two years and a Vacation Club Member we picked this 2010 version up for someone we are sending to WDW in the fall. This person has not traveled there in years. We found the binding and cover a little clunky, but the overall information was very well covered for a WDW newbie. We found some descriptions that seemed a little lacking and as for DVC resorts we actually found some resort room layout problems. Even so, if you are looking for a WDW Vacation Planning Guide this is a good book as it includes places to write in everything you need. Also has pockets to keep things organized. We use our DVC Planning Book to keep things together, but this works just as good. Let me warn you though - do not go overboard on organizing a Disney Trip. Most important is to get where you are staying, tickets to parks, and dining done at least three months ahead. There is your planning part. Be spontaneous and move around once you arrive. Enjoy your resort and all it has to offer. Use Disney Transportation. Decide your "Must See" attractions and take the time to get them in. Enjoy afternoons away from the parks and then go back in the evening. This book gives some of these hints to a point. Most important - find time to enjoy yourself.

The only Disney World planning book you'll ever need

Don't waste your time on the Unofficial Guide or Birmbaum's Guide (sanctioned by Disney) to plan your trip to Walt Disney World.

The Passporter has amazing full color pictures. It is unique in that it has what they call PassPockets in the back. There's a pocket for each day of your trip, up to 10 days. You can write down your dayplan, store your receipts, write down special memories to make scrapbooking easier and more.

They have detailed information and descriptions on each Disney Resort property. Each park section has its own full color pull-out map. They even marked walking times on the map from place to place in each park.

Make sure you register your Passporter because they will make printable updates available to you throughout the year. That way, you can print it out, paste it in your book, and you have the most up to date info out there.

I get one of these every year and it never disappoints me.

    Can't plan without it

I found this guidebook back in 2002 and have bought each edition as it came out -- it's THAT good. From the rich detail, to the well-organized and nicely-presented information, it's the ultimate resource for planning a Disney World vacation. There are some authors who are "in Disney's pocket," while other authors are overly jaded about Disney. What I like about the Marxes is they have a very balanced outlook, and give useful information that allows the reader to make their own decisions about how to enjoy the Disney parks and resorts. I have the binder version so I can slip pages out for touring, or add my own pages in during the planning process -- plus, I can purchase extra PassPockets for different vacations, and keep all my receipts, notes, and paperwork in them as a great souvenir of my trip. I love this guidebook!

Great for 1st timers and old pros!

We love the Passporter's Walt Disney World 2010..we've been to Disney 5 times since 2003 and ALWAYS get the new Passporter for new and up to date information! The tips from room requests and locations to dining suggestions are the best! The book is so full of suprises and so handy for quick references. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone going to Disney for the first time and a great reference for those who are regulars! I told my bestest girlfriends who are planning their 1st trips to Disney with their families that this is the book to get if they want to know it all about Disney, from the dining, rides, attractions, room/resort information, transportation, trip planning ...this book has it all!

    Great resource!

This book was recommended by a friend as a good research tool for our trip to Disney and she was coorect. It gives information on all the rides, shows, restaurants, hotels, in an easy to follow and understand format. Lots of color photos and kids' perspectives on all things Disney. It also has handy folders in the back to hold all your papers and confirmations. Love this book. It will be going everywhere with us in Disney.

Passporter a must for planning Disney trips

For my first trip to Walt Disney World I purchased 6 books about planning trips to Disney. I found very quickly that Passporter was my favorite.

One of the things that makes Passporter different from other Disney books is that it is a family affair. The authors & their 2 children all give reviews of the rides and restarants at Disney World. As a parent with young children it was nice to read which rides their kids found loud or scary and which ones they recommended.

Also, Passporter gives the best information on the different resorts at Disney World. Everything from restaurants at the resorts to size of rooms and how long you can expect bus rides to the parks to take.

The pockets at the back of the book make this more of a planner than the other books. You can store tickets and receipts for each day of the trip and they also have room for journaling about each day & writing down reservation times.

Passporter is the first book I recommend to friends planning trips to Disney World.
