I was very disappointed with this book. It says it will show you step by step how to do pastel drawings. All it does is show you a beginning sketch and then the finished product, without showing you any of the steps in between! So basically you'll see a sketch of an owl, and then the sketch of the owl with a tiny bit of tan around it, and then the finished product, which is extremely detailed. So a total of three pictures, and by the end you have no idea how the artist did any of these drawings. She gives instructions that are about a sentence long that don't help at all. This book is great if you want to see some pictures of animals in pastel, but not if you want to learn how to do it. I have no idea what the author was thinking when they wrote this book because it is in no way helpful to painting with pastels whatsoever. Do not get this book--it will infuriate you as it has infuriated me! I'm returning this terrible thing tomorrow!
