Barry Sanders won the Heisman by letting his actions speak for him, although our sports information director, Steve Buzzard, began sending out promotional information to the media once it became apparent Barry was a legit player in the Heisman race. We never did really hype people up in the preseason, so we kept it low key and said, "We've got a young man who was an All-America kick returner and we think we will be OK at tailback." We left it at that.
