Pathways to Joy is a selection of 108 of his sacred teachings on Vedanta philosophy. In accessible and powerful prose, Vivekananda illuminates the four classical yoga paths - karma, bhakti, raja, and jnana - for the different natures of humankind. The messages focus on the oneness of existence; the divinity of the soul; the truth in all religions; and unifying with the Divine within. Invaluable and inspiring, the selections also explore karma, maya, rebirth, and other great revelations of Hinduism.

    recommend

If there is an interest in Eastern religion, yoga, awareness of self, this is a good clear book to read. It is not meant to be read front to back or vice versa. Each chapter stands alone, an idea to be contemplated, re-read many times if necessary.

If there is a complaint to this book it is the use of the word 'god'. It is contrary to the concepts being discussed and clouds the material with an overlay of western systems.

I would recommend to all readers who find joy in new ideas.

    world's most wonderful thoughts.

Dear Reader, there are lots of good and thrash writings in the name of spirituality. All of them have their own visions and aims..But Swami. Vivekanandas writings and his messages stands apart from all the so called spiritual 'Best Sellers'. After Bhagavad Geetha there is , I mean here comes the true spirit of human life. That means the meaning and dos and dont's of life. It is a light house..It leads you in to the shore safely and shows you what you are and what you should be and ought to be. After reading this I am sure that one would change his attitudes towards life and oneself and thus through out the span of his life. It is my premonition that humanity is gropping in the darkness without even having weak silverline anywhere. We count on things which have been superficial. We rely on things which holds only matter and substance... Yes till date our life was flowing in such a turbulant way. yet we find it meaningless atleast at times..The worthless pace which we stretching towards the materialistic world will never takes you any where unless you look within yourself. The teachings and Grreat thoughts of Swami vivekanda will lead you to the purpose for which you live in this universe and make you realise the ultimate reality. Salutations and prostrations for all of you the most blessed selves. SALOMI JOHN.
