I originally checked this out from the library, just expecting to come away with a pattern or two. But this little book is jam packed with information on the art of the original Aran knitting, with great photos and details. So I bought myself a copy. It is now on loan to my local yarn shop... It is not the kind of book you go to for a project like you see in the majority of books, where you have everything mapped out nicely for you by the author, but you can create any of the sweaters illustrated with some knowledge. It is definitely a book you want for reference and to incorporate into your knitting endeavors. Or to give to a friend who loves Arans.

There are easier books to use for teaching oneself gansey knitting, but it is historically informative and I'm sure that I will grow into it!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
