Editorial Reviews

Night Owl Romance - Edie Reviewer
“Believable characters and strong emotional depth drive this story of betrayal and revenge. The riveting well-paced tale never lags as Corey and Tiffany come head to head, two strong-willed people who are both feeling the after effect of a devious plot for control and wealth…”
The Romance Studio - Linda J Alexander
“This short is well-developed and easily carries the reader through from beginning to end. While it teased with a promise of heavy sexual content, the author managed to relate emotion behind the sensuality in a way that satisfied any expectations and relayed the most meaningful part of the love connection between Corey and Tiffany…”

A fun lunch-time read in the world of Wayback Texas

Payback in Wayback, by Lynda Coker, starts with a vivid picture of Corey, a man betrayed by fate and by falling in love. Of course, falling in love with "the Devil's daughter," even if a very human devil, could never be a very good idea. Still, by the end of the first chapter, the reader knows enough to wish they knew more, and to feel the ache of tears behind the music of "love gone bad."

It's time for payback in Wayback, Texas, but who will pay whom, and how? There are broken relationships, and relationships wrong-footed from the start. And there's a shining hope that keeps the story going.

The author has a delightful way of portraying her characters' feelings in simple details, hands clasped too tight, legs left limp after sitting under too much stress, the sensual eating of familiar food. And then there are the details of secrets whose surprises brand this tale with a delightful conclusion.

Wrong assumptions, anger and regret all give way under laughter and innocence. The story ends like a song drawn out to its beautiful final notes; a really fun lunch-time read, or a bedtime story for weary moms, with just the right amount of pathos, romance and mystery.
