All Music Guide - Steve Huey
Arguably Megadeth's strongest effort and a classic of early thrash, Peace Sells combines a punkish political awareness with a dark, threatening, typically heavy metal worldview, preoccupied with evil, the occult, and the like. The anthemic title track and "Wake Up Dead" are the two major standouts, and there is also a cover of Willie Dixon's "I Ain't Superstitious," which takes on an air of supernaturally induced paranoia in the album's context. The lines between hell and earth are blurred throughout the album, and the crashing, complex music backs up Dave Mustaine's apocalyptic vision of life as damnation; his limited vocal style is used to great effect, growling and ...

The anthemic title track and "Wake Up Dead" are the two major standouts, and there is also a cover of Willie Dixon's "I Ain't Superstitious," which takes on an air of supernaturally induced paranoia in the album's context. The lines between hell and earth are blurred throughout the album, and the crashing, complex music backs up Dave Mustaine's apocalyptic vision of life as damnation; his limited vocal style is used to great effect, growling and snarling in a barely intelligible fashion under all the complicated guitar work. Vital, necessary thrash. [In 2011, the band released a 25th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set honoring the recording, which featured five discs, including the digitally remastered album and a previously unreleased live show recorded in Cleveland, Ohio, 1987, three LPs, two press photos, a pair of flyers from two classic concerts, a vintage, Japanese concert ticket, a booklet containing new liner notes, photos, and assorted memorabilia and new artwork created especially for the reissue.]

    Awesome boxset!

Well to my mind the pakcage is super awesome!
You have a 5 CD cardboard sleeve, 3 LP vinyl, booklet with words from Dave, Lars and Capitol engineer (as well as some nice live and memorabilia photos) and a sleeve with replica of old flyers and photos. And the cover art looks really nice :D
The sound of the new 2011 remaster is really good, of course we live in the "loud war" time but to my ears this remaster sounds better than 2004 remix remaster in terms of compression.
1987 live concert is awesomely great, regarding a little lack of quality (but I guess it's rare to find a clean sounding record aged as almost 30 years :D ), so the performance is amazing, very nice setlist.
Randy Burns mixes is a great addition since we didn't get the whole CD earlier and it's nice to hear PSBWB in it's early stage.
Overall the boxset really impressed me and after I've listened to remaster, concert and Hi-res DVD while reading the booklet and looking the photos and flyers, I felt like I was back in time :)
Must have for every fan of Megadeth and Peace Sells album \m/
