I am copying this from my review over at smashwords.
It is my first ever review, (so please forgive the "newb" feeling to it) but this book was really great!
Wow!
I just finished 'Peace Warrior", By Steven Hawk....
and I am thoroughly pleased!
Such a great book!
I am left with the feeling of "I can't wait for a sequel!"
I do not recall the last time a book has left me feeling that way.
This is my first actual book review ever.
So please bare with me.
I have been putting it off for about a week, Just because I was unsure how to go about this..
But I'll just type.. and hope it's ok.
This is the first work of fiction I have read in quite a few years...
and I think it's safe to say I will be reading more!
Steven Hawk has a true talent for writing!
It is written in a fashion that had me feeling like I was actyually watching it on a movie screen..
Every scene, action, environment.. I could "see" clearly
Peace Warrior is the first work of fiction I have picked up in years, and I am very happy this is the book I decided to read!
I couldn't agree more with Isabela Morales's review!
This is a fantastic book!, and a book that has left me wanting more!
I was almost saddened that I was on the last page, and could read no further into the lives of these amazing characters!
This book is written in such a way, that one can simply visualize all the plots, surroundings, environments, as if they were watching it on a movie screen.
Many books fail to do this,
but Peace Warrior is not one of them.
I can still picture all the scenes in my head, as if I had just watched a film,.... a great film!
I thought many times while reading it..
"Man, this would make an amazing movie!"
Peace Warrior is one of the books that you just want to keep reading until it's to the end..
even if you have other things to do...
You just want to keep reading! lol
You could really tell that the author had some real, actual experiences in some of the things written about in this book.
Such as combat, hand to hand , and other..
You could tell that it was written by someone with actual experience..
rather than by someone with no experience, who is trying to make it still sound good, and real.
Steven Hawk also brings up some really good things to think about in this book..
Some really deep, meaningful thoughts.. in regards to society, peace, love, war....
and I have been pondering these things since I finished the book..
If you read it.. (you should) you'll see what I mean.
I feel I have written too much here..
but also not enough.. in some way..
So I will stop it here, and hope that my *first* book review is sufficient enough to make my feelings about this book known.
Apologies for such a "newbie" review..
But I'll just end with saying that, I love this book!
Truly!
and will read it again!
Grant Justice is my new hero!
Many Thanks Steven!
Please keep up the writing!
I look forward to more books from you! :)
You are great, man. :) <3

Interesting post-apocalyptic America. Different causes, effects and a very different ending.

Just finished the third book in this series.... all three were great and i would reccomend them to anyone that likes a great story. Plenty of great military strategy and action, not a sappy love story anyplace in this set... great story with great characters with just enough sci-fi thrown to make it interesting. Look forward to more from this author!!

I have now read this entire trilogy. The first book was awesome....and this one was better. Easy to read, you didnt want to put it down. I was so engaged with the story at the end of the first book i had to immediately get the next two. In less than a week i was done with them. What a great author, and what a great writing style. Cant wait to read more from him.

During a raid in Russia, he falls in a freezing lake to get re-animated 600 years in the future. Humans are now slaves of an alien race called the Minith and are slaughtered relentlessly for the slightest misconduct. Grant must fight the Minith to the very extent of his being or it might be the end of the human race.

The peace for peace sake mentality which defines the society in which the main character awakens into makes me glad that we reacted to 9-11 and other threats that face the U.S.A. It gives insight to a true soldier's dedication to fixing the problem, rather than being the problem which sadly pertains to some of our leaders; ironically which face the leaders in this futuristic scenario. I definitely will read all the sequels by Stephen L. Hawk after having read and enjoyed Peace Warrior. KEEP THEM COMING AUTHOR!

The story line was entertaining, the characters were consistent and enjoyable to follow, and the story twists and turns kept me entertained all the way through the series. I look forward to more books by this author.

Sure glad Mr. Hawk dug this book out of his desk drawers! I never read scifi before. I guess I just couldn't get my imagination going in that direction. Mr Hawks grabbed me in the first chapter and led me easily through the future, different beings and planets...wonderful

If you like sci-fi & military books, you'll like this. Also, the author kinda takes the whole "can't we all just get along & ignore our problems" mantra that is prevalent today to its ultimate disastrous conclusion: it doesn't work.
