PEACE WARRIOR

It’s the mid-21st century when Sergeant First Class Grant Justice is killed during an ambush on an enemy tank column.

Six hundred years later, his body is retrieved from the frozen, arctic lake where he perished. Re-animated by a team of scientists, Grant awakens to a civilization that has abolished war. A civilization that has outlawed violence and cherishes Peace above all else. A civilization that has been enslaved by an alien race called the Minith.

Grant is humankind’s final hope against the alien menace. He must be the... Peace Warrior.

Editorial Reviews

Debra L. Martin
An excellent read. From the moment I started reading this book, the author reeled me in... I couldn't stop reading. Page after page flew by during the final chapters. This is an impressive debut novel for this author and I look forward to reading more by him.
Gordon Ryan
In his debut novel, Steve Hawk has penned another classic confirmation that Freedom isn't Free...

I read Hawk's book with a critical eye as well as that of a captured reader. If there is a common theme by readers about Indie authors, it revolves around their inability (or unwillingness) to professionally edit their manuscripts before publication. Peace Warrior is one of the best edited Indie novels I have read this year.

Well done, Mr. Hawk.
Ken Delaney
I really enjoyed this book. This is an excellent read, especially as a first book from this author. The story line is intriguing and quite believable. Great if you are a sci-fi or military fan. You can feel the heart and mind of a true soldier. The character development is terrific; you know and can relate to the individuals-from Tane to Mr. Blue.

I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone.
R. Dunn
The story pulls you in early and never lets go. The pacing of the narrative is terrific. The author does an excellent job of explaining how mankind has changed and is now a helpless slave race to the Minith. The ruthlessness of the Minith and the desperation of humanity are clearly portrayed. While there is plenty of detail the narrative never gets bogged down with too much as to slow the pacing of a great story. it is a perfect balance that make this a joy to read.
Steven Pereira
This is a great read from a new breed of self-published talent. By definition, these authors write with a passion you don't often see in more conventionally published works. I'm a sucker for Us vs. Them stories, and the Peace Warrior didn't disappoint. It has the aggressive aliens and the subjugated humans, but he throws in a number of unconventional twists...

A good book buy a new talent. And it's left open for a sequel. Keep writing.

    Fantastic Book! Loved it!

I am copying this from my review over at smashwords.
It is my first ever review, (so please forgive the "newb" feeling to it) but this book was really great!

    Wow!
I just finished 'Peace Warrior", By Steven Hawk....
    and I am thoroughly pleased!
    Such a great book!
I am left with the feeling of "I can't wait for a sequel!"

I do not recall the last time a book has left me feeling that way.

This is my first actual book review ever.
    So please bare with me.
I have been putting it off for about a week, Just because I was unsure how to go about this..
But I'll just type.. and hope it's ok.

This is the first work of fiction I have read in quite a few years...
and I think it's safe to say I will be reading more!

Steven Hawk has a true talent for writing!
It is written in a fashion that had me feeling like I was actyually watching it on a movie screen..
Every scene, action, environment.. I could "see" clearly

Peace Warrior is the first work of fiction I have picked up in years, and I am very happy this is the book I decided to read!

I couldn't agree more with Isabela Morales's review!

This is a fantastic book!, and a book that has left me wanting more!
I was almost saddened that I was on the last page, and could read no further into the lives of these amazing characters!

This book is written in such a way, that one can simply visualize all the plots, surroundings, environments, as if they were watching it on a movie screen.

Many books fail to do this,
but Peace Warrior is not one of them.

I can still picture all the scenes in my head, as if I had just watched a film,.... a great film!

I thought many times while reading it..
"Man, this would make an amazing movie!"

Peace Warrior is one of the books that you just want to keep reading until it's to the end..
even if you have other things to do...
You just want to keep reading! lol

You could really tell that the author had some real, actual experiences in some of the things written about in this book.
Such as combat, hand to hand , and other..
You could tell that it was written by someone with actual experience..
rather than by someone with no experience, who is trying to make it still sound good, and real.

Steven Hawk also brings up some really good things to think about in this book..
Some really deep, meaningful thoughts.. in regards to society, peace, love, war....
and I have been pondering these things since I finished the book..
If you read it.. (you should) you'll see what I mean.

I feel I have written too much here..
but also not enough.. in some way..

So I will stop it here, and hope that my *first* book review is sufficient enough to make my feelings about this book known.

Apologies for such a "newbie" review..
But I'll just end with saying that, I love this book!
    Truly!
    and will read it again!

Grant Justice is my new hero!

    Many Thanks Steven!
    Please keep up the writing!
I look forward to more books from you! :)
You are great, man. :) <3

    Excellant book suggest all three!

Just finished the third book in this series.... all three were great and i would reccomend them to anyone that likes a great story. Plenty of great military strategy and action, not a sappy love story anyplace in this set... great story with great characters with just enough sci-fi thrown to make it interesting. Look forward to more from this author!!

    Better than the first!

I have now read this entire trilogy. The first book was awesome....and this one was better. Easy to read, you didnt want to put it down. I was so engaged with the story at the end of the first book i had to immediately get the next two. In less than a week i was done with them. What a great author, and what a great writing style. Cant wait to read more from him.

    more from this reviewer

Intense and hard to put down.

In the present time, Sargent Grant Justice is the top dog in a spec ops army division. During a raid in Russia, he falls in a freezing lake to get re-animated 600 years in the future. Humans are now slaves of an alien race called the Minith and are slaughtered relentlessly for the slightest misconduct. Grant must fight the Minith to the very extent of his being or it might be the end of the human race.

A winner and a great read. Highly Recommended with a hero that demands respect despite desperate odds against terrifying alien incursions

The peace for peace sake mentality which defines the society in which the main character awakens into makes me glad that we reacted to 9-11 and other threats that face the U.S.A. It gives insight to a true soldier's dedication to fixing the problem, rather than being the problem which sadly pertains to some of our leaders; ironically which face the leaders in this futuristic scenario. I definitely will read all the sequels by Stephen L. Hawk after having read and enjoyed Peace Warrior. KEEP THEM COMING AUTHOR!

This Peace Warrior series is a good read

The story line was entertaining, the characters were consistent and enjoyable to follow, and the story twists and turns kept me entertained all the way through the series. I look forward to more books by this author.

    OKAY, I'M HOOKED

Sure glad Mr. Hawk dug this book out of his desk drawers! I never read scifi before. I guess I just couldn't get my imagination going in that direction. Mr Hawks grabbed me in the first chapter and led me easily through the future, different beings and planets...wonderful

Good read with a different twist.

If you like sci-fi & military books, you'll like this. Also, the author kinda takes the whole "can't we all just get along & ignore our problems" mantra that is prevalent today to its ultimate disastrous conclusion: it doesn't work.
