The shop’s extraordinary success seems destined to continue when Ella Mae meets an engaged couple who hire her to handle the dessert buffet at their wedding.

But Ella Mae has a lot on her plate. She is also searching for the origin of her magical powers—and hoping to determine if the spark of attraction she feels for the handsome Hugh Dylan is authentic or just her new abilities gone awry.

Editorial Reviews

Kirkus Reviews
Ella Mae LeFaye is settling into the routine of owning her own pie shop, as well as her newly discovered magical powers; not the best time to investigate a string of murders, but she'll have to, since the enemy behind them threatens everything she holds dear. Having returned to her hometown after a disastrous marriage, Ella Mae loves the new life she's building, even if it means juggling her business, her newfound talent for enchantment, a fledgling romance with her oldest crush, and her beloved but bustling magical family and friends. Business is booming, and when she goes to check out a used Jeep to buy as a delivery truck, it turns into a serendipitous trip: She meets a local cheese producer, some potential catering clients and a possible new helper for the Charmed Pie Shoppe. Life seems wonderful, but she barely has time to take a breath from her productive excursion when she and her Aunt Dee discover a friend dead in her home, and only days later, when Ella Mae is catering an event, another friendly acquaintance winds up dead, too. While seemingly unconnected, and even accidental, Ella Mae's mother and aunts are convinced the deaths are murder and that they are attempts to block a critical magical ritual set to take place during the upcoming harvest. The more Ella Mae is swept into the investigation, the more she realizes how little she knows about her magical history or the deep mystical heritage she's a part of. But the murders are designed to shut down the enchanted community of Havenwood for good, and Ella Mae can't let that happen. As her powers blossom, it becomes clear that there's something peculiar and special about her experience, and as the menacing figure gets closer to Ella Mae, some long-held secrets and magical mysteries will unfold, changing life as she--and all of Havenwood--knows it. An original, intriguing storyline that celebrates women, family, friendship and loyalty within an enchanted world, with a hint of romance, an engaging cast of characters and the promise of a continued saga of magical good confronting evil.

A Beautiful Story! Ella Mae has a lot on her plate with running

    A Beautiful Story!
Ella Mae has a lot on her plate with running her very successful Charmed Pie Shoppe but has decided to add a little catering to the mix. Her first job is a dessert buffet at a wedding. Things are going well until right after the couple ride away on horseback the bride’s stepmother is rushed to the hospital where she slips into a coma. This on the tails of a prominent member of the community has died. Ella Mae is afraid these two things may be related.
Ella Mae is also trying to understand her enchanted gift and wants to know the origin of her magical powers. She also needs to know if the attraction she feels for Hugh is true.  She needs to get her divorce finalized and then see if she can have a future with the guy she has loved since middle school.
Peach Pies and Alibis is a very unique story that will have you enthralled from the first page to the last.
In her search to understand her powers Ella Mae’s journey takes the reader on a magical ride. From her mother’s beautiful gardens to a very special place for those that are charmed. I felt like I was on Ella Mae’s shoulder with a bird’s eye view watching the entire story take place. Ellery Adams has the gift to suspend time as her readers almost descend right into the book for an amazing trip that takes us beyond Havenwood. I was most definitely captivating by her words. The way she weaves this mystery with the mystery of finding the killer is flawless.
The characters are wonderful including the lovable Jack Russell terrier, Charleston Chew (Chewy). Ella’s aunts and mother, each with their distinct charms, are extraordinary characters. Loralyn and her family are the Havenwood residents that must be endured by Ella Mae and her family but they add the strife every good cozy needs. Hugh Dylan brings the romantic tension and sparks actually fly. Mr. & Mrs. Caswell even make a cameo appearance. The Shepard’s pie was delicious!
This story get my highest recommendation! If I could I would award it much more than 5 stars!!  I know this is going to be on my 2013 favorites list!!

I read the first book in this series Pies and Prejudice and love

I read the first book in this series Pies and Prejudice and loved it so I was waiting for this book. I picked it up and only put it down when I fell asleep last night. When I started reading it today I could not stop at al.. This is a wonderful-magical read. Few cozy mysteries have a many surprises and twists like this one does. I loved all the good guys-did not like the bad guys -like I was supposed to.
I got so wrapped up in Ella Mae and her pie
shop I want to go there and meet her- she is that real to me. Ellery Adams also described her pies so beautifully that I actually thought of baking a pie myself. I have never baked a pie in my life- well maybe Mrs. Smiths. Peach Pies and Alibis is unputdownable.

Peach Pies And Alibis is the second book in the A Charmed Pie Sh

Peach Pies And Alibis is the second book in the A Charmed Pie Shoppe series by NEW YORK TIMES Best Selling Author, Ellery Adams.

Ellery Adams does such a wonderful, once again, of telling a great story and writes in a manner that, for this reader, makes me feel that I am right there, every step of the way. I felt I was there as Ella Mae was walking through her mother's rose garden, could hear her Aunt Verena's hearty laugh and see her Aunt Dee's metal sculptures and hear the classical music in her Aunt Sissy's school. And for the dog lovers, Ellery has hit the nail on the head about the antics of Charleston Chew, Chewy to his friends, Ella Mae's lovable Jack Russell terrier.

Ella Mae has recently moved back to Havenwood, after a disastrous marriage, and has opened up the Charmed Pie Shop. Ella Mae knows that the pies she bakes are in some way "charmed", in this books she learns just how she has this power and the "magic" that her mother and her aunts have.

One Sunday morning as Ella Mae is reading the newspaper she sees an ad for a retired mail Jeep for sale at Sherman Artisan Cheese. She needs transportation and this would also get her into a position to offer a catering service. She takes a pie with her to sweeten the deal, so to speak, to test drive the Jeep. While there, looking at the variety of cheeses, she meets Rudy and Candis, who are planning on having the Sherman's provide a selection of cheese for their wedding and Ella Mae agrees to cater the desserts for their wedding reception. Not only did she find a Jeep that will work for her, she also met a young lady that she hires to work in the shop.

Recently, Melissa Carisle, who provides the best honey, is found in her home dead. It appears she died of natural causes, but Ella Mae and her aunt Dee aren't so sure. Then when Freda, Candis' stepmother, becomes violently ill at Ruday and Candis wedding, it's time for Ella Mae and Reba to get down to work investigating what is going on in Havenwood.

Of course Loralyn is around to add grief to Ella Mae's life, that she does only so well. Hugh is around too, to stir the love interests of Ella Mae, but will the magic surface for them.

Highly recommended. Settle back and enjoy the "magic" Havenwood. Recipes included.

I love this series and can not wait for the third book. I believe the author must be related to the LeFayes. Her stories have a magic of their own. They capture and hold your attention. At the end of the story I was left with the hope that there could be such a place where magic and goodness could still exist.

    Okay

I was a tad disappointed by this book. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one (the 2nd) was differently written. For example, it mentions "powers" that Elle Mae and her Aunts have, but does not specify what they are.

I can't even describe how this book captured my attention from the beginning to an ending that left us with possibilities. What a great book that I could not put down until the last page was turned. The mystery kept me guessing but it was the relationship between Ella Mae and her relatives in this character-driven whodunit that made me feel like I was right there as they sought out a killer with an unexpected result. This is an great read and I look forward to the next book in this fabulously terrific series.

great series - makes me smile!

The Charmed Pie Shoppe series is definitely - absolutely charming! Ella Mae has finally been awakened to her substantial powers and just at the right time. The Lady of the Ash has to be replaced at the Harvest festival but all of the candidates seem to be dying from food poisoning. Purchasing a used vehicle from the Artisan Cheese makers in the area, Ella Mae is introduced to a bride ad groom and drafted to cater their small wedding as well as finding a young woman to work in her pie shoppe. The harvest festival yields numerous surprises and a bit of unforeseen heartache. Definitely looking forward to the next installment!

The Forest of Secrets Part II by RD

"What is it, Rainbow?" Applejack asked, sounding frustrated. Rainbow Dash observed the scene in front of her with horror. A pegasus lay in front of her, a pegasus that she'd known since filly-hood, a pegasus that was her friend. Fluttershy was dead. Her eyes were rolled back, her intestines and other organs spread out around her. Her wings were severed, her mouth curled in a silent plead for help. Applejack shrugged and walked away. Rainbow stumbled after her, blind with shock, fear, and grief. Rainbow decided to fly again after a while, deeming the ground unsafe. Applejack kept a fast trot. She didn't seem to register anything at the moment. "Can we slow down a bit?" Dash asked, panting slightly. "No, we can't," Applejack informed her. "We have to be there before Princess Luna raises the moon." She quickened her pace a little. Rainbow flew after her. Suddenly, a tree branch brushed against Dash's head. She shook her head and looked up. What she saw horrified her even more than Fluttershy. Twilight hung from a tree branch, her intestines tied together to hold her up. Her face had a look of anguish on it. Her eyes popped out of her head and maggots crawled out of her eye sockets and ears. The branch Rainbow had felt was accually Twilight's hoof. Dash gagged at the sight and flew quickly after Applejack. She turned around to see a green-tinted Rainbow Dash. "Don't puke on me!" Applejack told her. "Go behind that bush and puke. I'll wait for you." Dash went behind the bush indicated and puked. When she was done, she looked up and around her. She was about to fly back when she saw something in the corner of her eye. She walked over to it to get a better look. She was a bit confused by this next corpse. Rarity lay on her side, a sneer across her face. Rainbow gave her a little poke, but felt only flesh underneath the skin. She looked around and saw a skeleton a few feet away. She grimmaced and flew ro where Applejack was waiting. "Finally, you're done," AJ said, and continued onward. Suddenly, she came to a stop. Rainbow almost flew into her. "We're here," she whispered. (Next part in next res.)

    Gooseberryfur's destiny part 2

A HOT GREENLEAF RAY of sun shook Gooseberrykit. It was morning. Looking out a hole in her nest, she spotted a gooseberry bush. "That's the first thing I see in the morning?" She wondered. Violentkit, her new sister becuase her other brother was killed by a fox, shrugged. "Once I saw a puddle of blood on the grass," she said. "On the day I was born." "It's so strange...." Tundrakit,Juniperkit, and Smokefang stood over them. Violentkit turned away. "I need to talk with you," Silkkit mewed in her ear. "Murderer!" She hissed. Violentkit was a good little kit and privately chatted with Icekit. "Wonderfulheart—" "This is not about Wonderfulstar!" Gooseberrykit stomped off toward Smokefang, the deputy. She was in her den. Gooseberrykit suddenly decided not to tell. She stamped away.

Harmony At Its Best~~ Chapter 1

Ocean didnt kno who she was anymore. All she knew about herself now was that she was lost. Physically and mentally. Mabye even spiritually. Her sore paws skimmed the rough, unwelcoming ground through her journey. The sun was rising,so it wasn't at the day's hottest point. She sat, an evil wave of crucial hunger bringing her down on her paws. Heavy heaves of her breath broke the morning silence. She looked at herself, suddenly aware at how skinny she was. She moaned in pain and hunger, flies swarming around her wounded, sweaty body. Tiredly she rested her head on the concrete. She wanted to end her life here and now. Why else would he have a reason to live? Her parents had abandoned her. She closed her eyes, waiting for a monster to run her over. After some time, she was starting to fall asleep from the sun's warmth against the tar. She curled up, and fell asleep. Thats when what seemed the earth started shaking beneath her paws. The sorrow and harshness of hunger returned quickly, and she stayed put, fear building up as the shiny black monster rushed straight for her. The black, rubbery wheels were going to end her life, she thought. The fear was too much. It blocked her vision, turning the world black. She felt her head thunk down, and felt no more.
