Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
With each passing year, the magic of "Peanuts" grows. In our imaginations, we can all gather around Schroeder's piano to sing carols with Charlie Brown and the gang or we can peek out the back window to see Snoopy's doghouse brimming in holiday decorations. A Peanuts Christmas offers an unprecedented celebration, collecting all of Charles M. Schulz's Christmas strips, nearly 50 years (1950–99) of comfort and joy.
Publishers Weekly
It's not too late to order a few more stocking stuffers.... Among the Christmas titles that didn't arrive in time for our holiday reviews feature ("Holiday Roundup: Deck the Shelves," Sept. 23): A Peanuts Christmas by Charles M. Schulz unites a "complete collection" of Christmas-themed Peanuts strips, from 1950 to 1999, in one festively designed volume. Charlie Brown sends Santa a wish list and receives a form rejection slip; a costumed Peppermint Patty laments being cast once again as a sheep in the Christmas pageant ("Slouching towards Bethlehem, huh, sir?" Marcie asks when Peppermint Patty trips); while Linus keeps searching for the true meaning of Christmas. Schulz's fans can watch the image of Charlie Brown evolve from his earliest incarnation to the universally recognized contemporary look, right before their eyes.

Meet the Author

For more than fifty years, Charles M. Schulz and the whole Peanuts gang have delighted millions of readers around the world. Unlike many cartoonists of his day, Mr. Schulz drew every strip without an art staff and ultimately penned more than 17,000 comic strips. At the time of his death in February 2000, the Peanuts comic strip was carried in more than 2,600 newspapers. Mr. Schulz posthumously received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honor Congress can bestow upon a civilian.

    A fun collection!

This is a fun collection of holiday themed strips from the genius of Charles M. Schulz. The strips span from 1950-1999 and are just as funny today as when they were first published. This is a great holiday collection that is filled with witty observations and hilarious foibles that only the Peanuts gang could get away with. You'll find that some strips do show up again throughout the course of the book, but other than that, this book is near perfect and a great showcase to the artistic talents of Charles M. Schulz. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
