Editorial Reviews

"Pearls Before Swine" has been around since late 2001, but there's no sign that Stephan Pastis' wry farmyard newspaper comic is running out of steam. In fact, Rat, Pig, Zebra, Goat, Guard Duck, and the rest of this misfit menagerie are experiencing yet another renaissance, as evidenced by this giant (256-page) collection.

We hope Stephen Pastis never retires from writing this great comic...love the puns, the characters, the cleverness. It is entertaining to read and never gets old. The earlier compilations are just as terrific. Especially love the comments he includes beneath most of the strips. The REM strip makes us smile every time.

Ignore all the criticsisms. This comic strip is the best, and we should be proud that there is a genius like Stephan Pastis live today. Rated at six stars.

I'm glad I tried the sample first! Shame on 'Nook' for being so lazy & insulting Stephan Pastis' work for not enlarging the whole strip so it can be read without a magnifying glass. Even using the large font didn't bring the strip into focus.

I have long been a fan of Pearls Before Swine. When my friend gave me this book i was enthralled. I would say that this is NOT a waste of your money and the only people that wouldn't enjoy it are ones with no sense of humor. GO CROCS!!!

I bought this for Christmas for Mom. She's 88 and hasn't enjoyed the comics this much since she voted for Pogo for President!

We already had a copy of this but bought this one for a family member to help her get through chemotherapy. Pearls doesn't appear in her local newspaper, and I think she'll love Pig's naivete and the crocs' . . . uh, well, the crocs' unintentional suicidal tendencies.
