This book published by the Committee on Nutrition of the American Academy of Pediatrics is intended for updating pediatricians, medical students, and nutritionists on the nutrition recommendations for infants and children and in the field of pediatrics. The purpose is to give general guidelines on the evaluation and treatment of the normal as well as the abnormal child with a variety of nutritional needs. The book is intended for general pediatricians, dieticians, those involved in nutrition for children, and residents and medical students. This text contains no color, but the black-and-white illustrations and multiple tables are concise and informative. It has very good reference material from which to obtain further information, in-depth and regarding to a variety of topics. This is an attractive and timely book that is going to be used by a variety of people, especially at a time when there is emphasis on preventive medicine and proper nutrition for infants, children, and adolescents.
