Description: This book explores common radiologic studies used in pediatrics through a question and answer format while the accompanying CD reinforces the teaching points and enhances the learning opportunity.
Purpose: The purpose is to guide readers through numerous radiologic studies and facilitate the recognition of the anatomic details essential to accurate diagnosis.
Audience: Medical students, residents, and clinicians who are not radiologists are the intended audience.
Features: The book covers the analysis of computerized tomography (CT) scans, and four types of plain radiographs including the chest, lateral neck, abdomen, skull, and long bone/extremity. It does an excellent job of exploring the systematic process of how radiologic studies are read. Through the question/answer format, the reader is guided to a diagnosis. The discussions are informative and very high yield. The CD is an invaluable tool which adds to the learning experience.
Assessment: This is an excellent resource for all medical personnel. Its unique format teaches the reader how to better analyze radiologic studies. It will be a helpful reference for medical students, housestaff officers, and clinical physicians.
