What People Are Saying

Arianna Huffington
For all the working moms who feel like they are about to drop the balls they’ve been juggling (ie all of us!), take heart. Peeing in Peace is filled with humor, compassion, and sage advice. I only wish Beth and Yvette had been around when my daughters were younger. Make time to read this book, even if you have to lock yourself in the bathroom.

    Lifesaver for Busy Moms

For all busy working moms out there, Peeing in Peace: Tales and Tips for Type A Moms is a lifesaver. In fact, for all moms out there, Beth Feldman and Yvette Manessis Corporon¿s new book is a lifesaver. After all, most of us are thrashing around in the rough seas of motherhood ¿ contending with the whipping winds of other people¿s judgments about our parenting, or the crashing waves of our endless ¿things to do¿ lists, or the swirling eddies of tantrums and whines from our little ones. And so, for anyone who is breathlessly doggy paddling in the high seas of mom-dom, this book is definitely for you. Peeing in Peace explores the myriad of funny, poignant, and all-too-familiar dilemmas faced by today¿s moms ¿ such as going back to work negotiating other mothers at the local pre-school giving up your beloved sports car for a mini-van dealing with biting ¿play-date piranhas ¿ or the demise of afternoon nooky with your husband. Feldman and Manessis Corporon describe all these predicaments and quandaries with candor, honesty, and a great deal of wit. The most important message of the book is that busy moms ¿ facing all these kinds of dilemmas ¿ need a community. They need other moms to share their stories with. They need confidantes and co-conspirators who will confess, ¿I bought Dunkin Donuts for the preschool bake sale too¿ or ¿I only arranged a play-date with Ms. Jones¿s kids so I could nose around her McMansion.¿ Through their book, Feldman and Manessis Corporon become our mommy-comrades. And they inspire us to go out and find more. Peeing in Peace is truly a lifesaver...and it also happens to be so cute and natty, you can carry it in your purse!

Great fun read for busy moms

I'm not big on 'mommy books', they tend to frustrate me with their fictionalized look a what they think our lives are like. But, finally, a book comes along that paints not only an accurate picture of the lives of working moms, but a funny one as well. Peeing in Peace made me smile along with the authors anecdotes and exploits. It provided a much needed escape and actually made me laugh out loud on the subway. Thanks to the authors for reminding us that - as they put it -'contrary to how we feel sometimes, we are not alone'. And I loved the the BC (before children) /AD (after diapers) comparisions so much I actually called my husband at work and read them to him. He reminded me that yes, dads need to pee in peace as well.
