Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carol Collins
Sure to be a hit with very small children, this book contains large brightly colored barnyard animals who play peek-a-boo with the reader. Each animal's face is covered by its hooves, paws, wings, etc. until the legs or wings are unfolded to reveal who the animal is and what it has to say. The name of the cow, the pig, the mouse, etc. is given as it says moo, oink, squeak, etc. The last game is played by "you," the baby foldout, who says "Peek-a-boo!" Tiny ones will, or course, want to play with the book by pulling down the foldouts, an action that should reinforce the learning of the names and the sounds of these barnyard animals as well as associate fun with reading. The pages and pullouts are sturdily constructed so that they should be durable enough for numerous readings.
School Library Journal
PreS-This lift-the-flap book features seven familiar barnyard animals covering their faces with two of their appendages (hoofs, wings, etc.). The text on each page is identical, "Guess who? Peek-a-...." Turning down the flaps reveals the face of the animal and the sound it makes. The final spread features a baby. Children will most likely identify all of the animals even before lowering the flaps. This aside, they'll love making the sounds that the book is bound to induce. The creatures are presented in large scale and in vibrant colors set against a single color background. A boon for infant and toddler programs.-Tom S. Hurlburt, La Crosse Public Library, WI

Love This Book! A Must Get!

I received this book as a gift at my baby shower, my daughter loves it! From an early age she would gravitate to this book again and again! She loves all the animals and that she gets to interact with them! She loved it so much I now buy it for every baby shower I attend! No kid should be without Peek-a-Moo! :) haha Definitely recommend!

    An interactive book

I bought this booked based on the other reviews. My baby is 10 months old and is starting to enjoy the book. It is very interactive and he pulls the flaps himself while I make the noises. He loves that he can participate and this book is one of his favorites. As another reviewer said the only problem is the flaps are made of paper and even though stronger than regular paper the ripping factor is high! For this age a stronger board book has a longer life.

    A Nursery Requirement!

It doesn't surprise me at all to see identical optimism about this book. I bought Peek-a-Moo for my son when he was 6 months old and have had to repair the 'peek-a-...' flaps a few times for the occassions when my baby found it before I could help him read it. To say he loves this book is an understatement - he cries when we put it away! We love the bold and vivid illustrations - perfect for babies learning about parts of the face.

A great infant and toddler book!

My son can't get enough of this book! He loves lifting the sturdy flaps and it is helping him to learn animals and their sounds. The illustrations are big, colorful, and eye-catching.

Fantastic part of the 'Bovine Trilogy'

My 7 month old stops everything and devotes his entire focus to this book when I pull it out. It is sure to guarantee giggles as it is an 'interactive' book great for infants. It is the favorite of our 'Bovine Trilogy,' which also includes 'Cow Moo Me' and 'Tiny Moo's Big Adventure.'
