This is a very informative first hand account of the rioting against a Paul Robeson concert in Peeksill, N.Y. during the early days of the Cold War & "Red Scare"
I found this book as a follow up to T.C. Boyle's novel, "World's End", which
concerns events during this period in the Hudson River valley, as well as flashbacks to colonial times & events in the 1960s. Peekskill riots were central to this novel, & I wanted a factual account.
Howard Fast's book did the trick.
