    I Also Recommend:

"Pemberly's Promise" was a surprise for me because when I started reading it, I assumed that the whole book took place on the ship. So when both Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth exited the ship and returned to England before I was even half way through the book, I wondered what the rest of the book would be about. To my delightful surprise, I discovered that she actually weaves the rest of the story into the original "Pride and Predjudice" story - with a few changes, of course. Absolutely thrilling!

In all, nothing can replace Jane Austin's novels, but Kara does an excelent job of taking us deeper and exploring Jane Austin's stories in ways that we probablly wouldn't have otherwise. You will enjoy every page!"

    Pemberly's Promise

Kara Lou has topped herself with this book. She has kept the personalities of the characters very like they are in the Pride & Prejudice book and brought in the delightful banter we so love to read about. This is not a sequel to P&P but a fascinating take-off on how the lovers would react in the hardships of sailing to the New World, misunderstandings abound along with the long, loving eye contacts that only Mr. Darcy can send Elizabeths way. Very well written, I have already read it several times and will open it again soon.

    I Also Recommend:

What a surprise this "what if" sequel of Pride & Prejudice turned out to be! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have read it twice in the short time I have owned it! I really liked the story line from beginning to end, and particularly, once the hero and heroine met up at Netherfield...I like where the author took this story!
Since I have read this book, I have purchased the author's other three "what if" sequels on P & P: "Master Under Good Regulation"...loved it!; "Assumed Engagement" and "Assumed Obligation"...loved these storylines as well! Looking forward to her next sequel that I understand will be out later this year or early in 2010. Ms. Louise is a good writer with good imagination and she does it without distorting the characters. Some P & P sequel writers
seem to want to add an extreme amount of sensualism to both the characters and the story...totally unnecessary for this reader to enjoy!
