Meet the Author

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1940, Dennis Forbes received a BA in English from Drake University in1962. Following the USN and graduate school, he worked in various capacities for Better Homes & Gardens magazine & as assistant director of publications for the University of Iowa. Moving to San Francisco in 1972, he free lanced as a writer, editor, graphic designer, illustrator & photographer. In 1974-1976 he was art director for Vector and The Advocate magazines, returning to free lancing from San Francisco until 1989, when he created the Egyptology quarterly journal Kmt, of which he has been editorial director to the present time. Today Forbes lives in rural Western North Carolina.
